Has anyone paired or heard the PS audio Directream or DirectStream Junior DAC paired with the 430HAD? I would be using Roon as digital source for the DAC via the Ethernet streamer in the DAC. I have the 430HAD currently, using its builtin DAC ATM via USB from an iMac Pro

Can-wise:I have Sony Z1Rs on order, MPH1000s, and considering the Utopias or LCD3s or 4s as a next can purchase

I'm using the 430HAD with my Utopias, sourced by the DSJ and Roon. Do you have specific questions?

I haven’t heard the Directstream DACs, but I have heard the 430HA with the Denafrips Terminator and it was a great pairing. The 430 is quite smooth which is also used to describe the Directsreams. Per Darkos review, the Terminator runs neck and neck with the Directstream at nearly $2000 less and a slightly more energetic presentation and better extended highs/lows. Can’t go wrong either way I’m sure.

I actually find LCD4 quite similar to z1r, sure lcd4 is better- as it sounds more open, accurate and airy, but its not a night and day difference imho.

The Moon 430HAD I have at home just died - worked perfect since 2014:frowning2:

Seems like the fuse said goodnight, anyone else experienced this? No iffy stuff happening with the power at the time either. I switched track from Roon and no sound (perfect timing). So initially I though that this was a Roon issue; then I saw the power light on the 430HAD had died.

Just pop the top lid and check the two fuses. If they are OK, time to draw on your ten year warranty. I had a power inverter go in mine, it was fixed in two working days at no charge by their local rep.

Sad to hear. Keep us posted. Keep yours powered on all the time or power down when not in use?

Replacing fuse(s) did not help; it is stone dead - guessing something regarding the power supply board

Where are you located? You have warranty?

Yes, got asked by store to check the fuses first - if that did not work I got asked to turn it in for service and I would get a loaner while I waiting. So not a problem, just the extra stress disconnecting; freight; getting it into the store; going home with a loaner; connecting the loaner; waiting; disconnecting the loaner; returning the loaner and picking up my own 430HAD and the connecting it again.

Edit:
In documentation from Simaudio, they stated 230V, 500mA, 5x20mm fuse. It had one of those, but also a 230V, 250mA, 5x20mm fuse.

Hi Guys,
Mine just died on me as well. Sad. Changing fuse did not help as well. One of my friend is going to help me check it first. If he can't do anything, I have to turn it to the local dealer here in Singapore I guess. Hope its a minor issue. The local agent quoted me $200 just to trouble shoot.
