I realized today that I had never posted up the last headband mod I did on my M1060. I originally modded an Audeze headband using some L brackets (click HERE for how), but the L brackets ended up being the weakest point and would bend and the screws on the yokes would loosen quite often. After that, I drilled the cups to accept THIS Audeze Yoke Replacement Kit, and THIS is what they looked like using those Audeze yokes. But one day I saw that Adorama had the HE-560 headband on sale for only $9.99! So now I am using that headband screwed into the mounts I had drilled and inserted from the Audeze Yoke kit.
Custom alcantara pads from Vesper Audio
3D printed grills
Thinner foam on grill side
Speaker cover cloth added on ear pad side of driver
Audeze yoke mounts
Painted HE-560 headband
10ft Papri braided cable
Here is when I first mounted it to see if it would work:
The headband taped and sanded for paint:
Here is what they look like now:
Yep, I painted it over, and after that pic you saw in my post I bought some gray vinyl and cut out a Monolith logo for each side. Was a p.i.t.a., lol. Here is a pic showing the logo on the M1060's:
awesome find on the headband, I switched back to stock headband just cause of my ocd and didnt like how the metal's were different colors. I went ahead and ordered thee hifiman headband and gonna give it a shot. Also ordered some of the walnut grill covers from ponoko and plan on staining them to match the orange on the headband. I also snuk in some m570's tooBeen lurking on this thread for a while and been loving all of the mods for the M1060. I'm working on another pair of M1060's for fun because I like to tinker with stuff. Got some stuff that's being 3D printed by DrSchnickistein and VRacer. But figured it would be a more interesting post if I also included a picture of my slightly modded M1060C.
The CAD file came from a reddit user named tortelett and got it laser cut out of walnut from Ponoko for $30. The linseed oil stain looks better in person. Only thing I did was the open end plates, replaced the factory screws with M2 hex screws, and added in a thin tuning foam. Might consider changing out the pads in the near future but I hope to post up more pictures of the M1060 with mods once the parts come in.

M1060 has thick and masculine mids and deep extended and textured bass.
The dynamic range is equivalent to Nighthawk that has wide range.
I think Monoprice audio gears open wide gate to hifi-world.
The sound signature of large size drives is simply not replaceable for those quality mentioned above by any means of smaller drives.
M1060s have large drives which generates sounds of real world low-key tone bass and incredible mids.
