So I saw the zeos review on them, has the build quality changed since the first wave of production? I am really torn between these and the hd600 to replace my mad dogs I am going to sell.
I have the m560, the m565, and the m1060c and I can tell you that any of these listed hp's the hd600 can't compete. These have a large foot print, real fast and tight bass. The m565 with the shure1540 pads are not only super comfortable but puts the m565 on steroids. The bass pounds so hard you feel the vibration on you're ears and yet doesn't distort or run into the mid-range. Truly remarkable. The hd600 which I also have is out of league here.

So this is the regular M565 not the M565C, right? Also have you made any other modifications besides the Shure pads? And lastly, how did you mount them? Doesn't the M565 have velcro pad mounting?

Yes, it's the Monolith M565, the pads is all I did. The Velcro that sits on the cups are not abrasive at all it's a soft hold. I simply pressed on the Shure pads center cloth against the existing velcro and gently pressed around with my fingers. It's not a permanent solution at this moment but it actually holds ok until I figure something out that won't ruin anything. You can already revert back to stock. You will love them and have become my favorite headphones because there are no peaks which are ear fatiguing. As you raise the volume to crazy levels, the bass stays right along with the treble and the mids. It's crazy good and I have 24 headphones. My Fostex Mk3 can not compete, specially driving them on my Emotiva's A100 with the jumpers on. Keep in mind that Planar magnetic run better on Solid State amp not so good on tubes so my Little Dot Mk2 run my hd600, the Sony MDR-1A, etc. Anyway you get my gist.

I have been enjoying my m1060s for a while now but I would like to get a dac/amp for it.
I'm already set on the Micca G2 but I just checked amazon and they are not selling it anymore :frowning2:
Any advice on what I should do?
Should I try to buy one used or pay extra from another website?
Or maybe I should just get a different dac/amp idk :frowning2:

I might be selling my modded FX-Audio DAC X6, I have upgraded the opamp chip on it. Sounds great now.

agree with @fpantalone that the M1060 and HD600 are really different sounding headphones and it will depend on what sound you are looking for, genres that you listen to, and supporting gear (amps) since these headphones like different types of amps to get the most out of them.

Can anyone give a comparison between the m560 and the 4xx? I currently own the m560 and was never really happy with the weight or headband.

I had the he400i and got rid of them because the m560 outshined it. The he400i we're very light and comfortable though. Try the m565, very light and comfortable and sound better than the 400i. And if you replace the pads to the shure1540 they will feel like pillows and the bass will pound like you never heard while maintaining it's full integrity. The 400i lack midbass which is what turned me off. Sub bass was ok. The highs we're very good.

So are all the issues I have read about solved with the latest M1060 units? Might pick up a pair.
