Getting it cut properly and applied so it doesn't block the slots, but completely covers the bars is the challenge. I have seen some that were pretty nasty looking. Maybe doing more harm to the sound than good...
A guy posted a picture of some that he used a cutting machine to do. They were perfect. I just cannot justify the cost of that machine for this one project.

I didn't find it to be quite that difficult. I don't think mine is perfect, but serviceable. I did it all by hand.

I used felt tape that I had left over from a projector screen installation.

I'm surprised no one here has started selling pre-cut fuzzor mods. I would be in one for one, just to save me the hassle of it all, as long as it wasn't too pricey.

I've basically tried to remove additional resonance occurring by leaving gaps on the sides of the drivers. It's not too different from the concept of the T50RP Mk3 baffle ports.

Here is my T50RP with some tape covering some ports, but you can see some ports left uncovered at the bottom.

Adding some foam might help a bit but I printed that revised version that brought back the subbass. Still tweaking it but my 3d printer is being grumpy. I'll post the mk4 once I've tested it out.

I just received my HD-6XX from the second drop, was listening on it for the past hour (brain burn-in?), and then I switched back to the M1060, oh that planar bass...

yes, I am a bad case of basshead, and my M1060 doesnt want me to put my TH-X00 PH's back on...

Is the bass accurate on the M1060? I mix music with my AKG K7XX and my mixes are turning out well balanced and I have worked out how to get a decent low end now but it would be great to have a set of headphones that really tell me what is going on in the bottom end.

I would have considered this crazy talk before getting the Schiit Loki, but EQ'd the M1060 can basically be considered the open version of a modded PH in regards to bass...it's absolutely massive, articulate, and hard hitting. The PH still has more impact and overall presence and livelier sound, but the M1060 is extremely close. Still prefer the mids and highs of the PH, M1060 doesn't sound as clear or energetic. The highs are what really separates the two.

Yeah, I had the same reaction after getting the HD6XX. Even though they are my newest headphone they are getting very little head time which is very unusual for me since I usually compulsively explore my music collection with new 'phones.

You EQ the M1060 and it will tell you loads of information, has about the detail level of an HD700 with almost the power/impact of a modded TH-X00PH.

oh i wasn't comparing the M1060 to the PH's, I was just saying that after listening to the 6XX for an hour and then switching to the M1060 (I left the PH's at home and I am at work right now) made me appreciate "that planar bass", fo sho the PH's bass is on another level (and i treat my music with a PEQ setting of "low shelf, 40Hz +35db" heh heh heh....

I just got my m1060 today and I'm impressed, no burn at all, maybe it just sounds good because of my low standards from using the m40x and the shp9500... I'm not sure on how I can verify the 5k ringing issue? What does it sound like? And music is good for finding the 5k ringing? Because I'm not sure what to look for...
