After the discounting all the way down to $62 they are out of stock at Monoprice and back up to $89. Still a great deal I guess and I guess they will get more of them?

If you can afford the Liquid Platinum it's now $329 at the Mono price website. With the price code Save25, you can save another $25. This is the cheapest a brand new Liquid Platinum has ever sold for. After the discounting all the way down to $62 they are out of stock at Monoprice and back up to $89. I did it earlier on the Monoprice site. It went from $339.00 to $289.00.March15 can't be combined with the already discounted price on the LP, which is an incredible price anyway.

Just tried it again and the discount is working now. This is an incredible price for the LP! If I didn't already own oneI did it earlier on the Monoprice site. It went from $339.00 to $289.00.
I would snap one up.

Earlier I read that the "Balanced Out" was the preferred way to use the LP.
How about the inputs? SE in and Balanced out is good?
Or must it be Balanced in ->Balanced out to get the best performance?

Inputs don't matter. SE in and balanced out is just fine.Earlier I read that the "Balanced Out" was the preferred way to use the LP.

Just make sure that you never use a balanced to single ended adaptor cable on the Liquid Platinum's balanced headphone output, since this will short the pins on the LP's headphone output. This can damage both the LP as well as your headphones.Inputs don't matter. SE in and balanced out is just fine.

Thank you...one more question:Inputs don't matter. SE in and balanced out is just fine.
Has anyone measured the B+ going to the plates? 150 volts is what this tube is designed for. Does this amp supply that much? Or is it running at much lower voltage and acting as a "tube buffer" rather than true 1st stage amplification?
EDIT: Looks like 90v to the plates is most often suggested for typical operation. 150v is "Max".
EDIT/EDIT: Looks like the voltage question was answered in another thread: 105 volts to the plates (that 's good, y'all):

10-4 on this advice.Just make sure that you never use a balanced to single ended adaptor cable on the Liquid Platinum's balanced headphone output, since this will short the pins on the LP's headphone output. This can damage both the LP as well as your headphones.
Appreciate!

If Bob likes the LS he'll probably love the LP. Especially at the $339 price.Interesting that he's not a Sennheiser fan. Sounds like it has just enough power to drive them I guess. Do headphone amps start clipping near the top of their volume control (generally speaking)?

I’m no expert, but generally speaking any amplifier driven beyond its maximum capability will exhibit clipping. Don’t do that…. Your gear will thank you!Interesting that he's not a Sennheiser fan.
