Well, Trance doesn't sound like that to me. The pads and rhythms are euphoric to my ears depending on the song.It was the absolute worst time in history for music when disco was introduced. It is club music and nothing more. Everything sounds the same and it’s all about the same beat over and over to dance to. That’s great if you were a “clubber” but for just pure listening enjoyment, musicianship, technique, etc., personally hot needles piercing my eyes is a better option
You know, my post was idiotic. I regret it!! I'd delete it but that would be even more idiotic as it's written in stone so I gotta deal with it. I had no business posting something like that as everyone has their tastes and opinion. Mine happens to be different and it's not gospel. To each their own is what makes the world go around as cliché as that sounds. . My apologies if I offended anyone with my self centered post. Forgive me fellas, especially you @PharmaboyWell, Trance doesn't sound like that to me. The pads and rhythms are euphoric to my ears depending on the song.

Personally I prefer not looking at myself when I wear headphones. It makes me self conscious.
Seriously, unless they're portable, like I'm going to go outside with them, I honestly don't care all that much.
It's a bonus for sure when they look good, & even better when they look good on your head.
I find Empyrean the former but alas, not the latter.
I still like the sound a helluva lot though.
I had assumed when someone is saying they don’t like how they looked when wearing that it was said in jest. I guess maybe not.
To get a headphone or not get a headphone that’s not based solely on sound quality and comfort is totally ludicrous.
Picture 3 guys sitting around at an audio club meet. First guy says, these headphones are truly amazing sounding. Second guy says mine as well. I’ve never heard such detail and musicality from a set of cans. Third guy guy was mine sound just so-so but I look really f*cking great with them on.

I personally find the Empys very comfortable indeed...and I haven't got much cushioning on top lol...(practically nil, in fact!).
And yeah, at the end of the day let's face it, it's the sound that counts......

They definitely are comfortable. I get a little pressure by the jawline after a while, but nothing deal breaking.
And yes, my point exactly, it's the sound not the look. I do like the look of them, but there's just no getting away from the fact that they're big and bulky. I honestly don't care a whit.

Absolutely no offence! Even (especially) in its heyday, disco was divisive. Some loved it & other hated it.
Besides, your post is noteworthy for this: "personally hot needles piercing my eyes is a better option." That's right up there w/my favorite, "I'd rather stick barbecue skewers through my head."
This is a solid thread, lots of honesty & little conflict. It's all good...
Yet another positive re. these headphones that has become more apparent as the days go by : I know this will depend to a certain degree on the rest of one's system (including cables), but in my own, I'm liking their ability to deliver masses of information at low listening levels - when one's head needs it! - but then maintain reassuring balance and control when the volume can be turned right up without ears objecting...very welcoming IMHO...
Wholehearedly agree, hypnos1! I've had my pair for about 3 weeks now and they continue to impress me. Comfort is unrivaled, too.

100+ Head-Fier
I have only used it with my Hugo TT2 and the Rogue Audio RH-5. I like the Leather Pads with the RA RH-5; because the tubes make the mid focused pads sound liquid with an increased soundstage. The easy swap pads are a huge plus with the Emp's and help set it apart from some of the other great HP's out there.Did anyone ever pair the Empy with the Moon 230HAD?

I agree, changing the pads takes less than a minute. It's great!I have only used it with my Hugo TT2 and the Rogue Audio RH-5. About 15 seconds (or less!) I'd say lol
If I were the Usain Bolt of pad swapping. LolAbout 15 seconds (or less!) I'd say lol...
15 seconds if you take your time! I can do it in 7 seconds, max.
