Can you explain me in a physics way how a filter will have something to do with the drivers going quiet slowly? Does the sound blots and congest waiting to escape and the tip is giving the air a hard time to escape?

you got the same situation as me, cheap and bad manufacturing, get your warranty ASAP, this kind of shops do anything they can to not make it valid, I already claimed mine and I want a working unit, I think it’s an electrical related problem since if you stop listening for a while they get back to normal (if it was in deed a filter problem it would come up right away and work the same all the time, air flow won’t be accumulating in the filter as it passes by) I go for the electric components heating up or something like making the drivers loose potency as they are used. It has to be an electrical problem
I don't know the technicals, but the fact for me is that when the right side goes quiet and I remove the filter the sound is as loud as in the left earpiece.
Plus as long as I don't use red, pink or purple I am safe of the problem.

Do you people experience this problem with the stock eartips or custom ones ?

I believe the problem is that with the combination of the amount of wadding in the bassier filters +
the seal created with better tips, a vacuum builds in the phones and the volume drops.

This would explain why the volume is restored instantly when removing the filter.

This is exactly what I think is happening. Especially with tips that make the seal really good.

I also experienced the driver going quiet on one side issue. I pulled the ear tips out from both side, and had a really close look at the black silk piece on the filters. I noticed that the more quiet driver has a lot more fine holes on that black silk piece with some soak in water like blockage surrounding from outer circle closing in towards the center. So all I did was pressing a tissue paper against that black silk piece gently , and I notice the tissue paper now has a circle water mark the size of the filter tip, and the black silk piece has a smooth surface again. I put the ear tips back on and have a listen and the sound going quiet problem is completely gone. So for my set, the problem is exactly as Peter123's assumption, moisture, but not inside the filter and just on the black silk piece. Nothing technical involved in my case. And FYI I didn't change to a different set of filters or set them aside to wait, and problem happened with different ear tips. Maybe a change of that silk like material can have this fixed permanently.

My A6 mini finally arrived today. Let the testing begin!
Yeah, I received mine yesterday too and have been listening to them a lot yesterday and today. What can I say...I'm very impressed. I love the bass on these. It's just the right quantity and it's extremely detailed, textured and responsive. The mids are also very very nice. Lots of detail, great clarity and separation, voices sound nicely placed and with good timbre. The highs are hyper detailed. With the blue filters they were too intense for me. Even with the black filters the highs can occasionally be a little too intense, but I love the sparkle, energy, extension and detail of these highs. I still need to do more tip rolling or perhaps a little foam in the nozzles to find the perfect balance of smoothness and detail for the widest range of my music.

Now I'm even more excited to get the big brother A6, which I'm scheduled to get in the mail tomorrow. I ordered the regular A6 on 11/11 and the A6 Mini on Black Friday, but I actually got the A6 Mini a few days before the full A6. Oh well, it has given me a chance to enjoy the A6 Mini without it being in the shadow of the higher end A6.

I am really surprised to confirm it. I used paper tissue and it momentarily got wet, collecting moisture.

So I've really been enjoying the A6 mini since I've received them. Firstly, I would say they're way more different to the regular A6, than they're similar. I wish they would've just used a unique name for them and marketed them on their own merits. To me, then not having the 4 BA's for the mids changes EVERYTHING about what they're about.
The mini has more of a bass emphasis, smooth mids and airy and detailed highs, and are tuned very, very well. To me, they're the ying to the A6's gang and compliment each other very well. I find them to be a more relaxed listen in comparison to the A6. The A6 have a very fast almost linear bass presentation and have the most uber, hyper detailed miss and treble of any iem I've ever heard. They're very energetic and almost tiring sometimes due to their extreme detailed tuning. I'm not saying that as a negative though, as I love how they present music.
I found that time and tip rolling has helped me understand the A6 and grow to appreciate them more than any other iem. I'll listen to a different iem and listen to a song that I'm familiar with and feel like I'm missing something in the music.
The more time I spend with my A6 the more I grow to love them, but I can understand how some people may not love them like I do. They are not a relaxing listen, and they're not a dark tuning, nor are they bass heavy. But if you want a clear, hyper detailed and exciting listen, then you are sure to love the A6. I will say again though, that the included tips do not do the A6 any justice at all, and I highly recommend the final type E tips for both the A6 and mini.
I would say the A6 mini are perfect for those who like a more balanced sound, with a good quality bass, smooth mids and airy, sparkly highs. I do feel like the mini are now my favorite sub $100 iem and will be staying with me for a long time.

This is good to hear. I ordered the A6 Mini as a "better CNT-1," and it sounds like that is what it could be. [Except for fit].

I've got a few days with the A6 mini, and I think they're awesome. Some of the strengths and drawbacks for me, the bad first.

Cons/annoyances:
  • Shells are a bit large, they aren't necessarily "uncomfortable" to me, but they don't have that effortless fit/comfort that you always hope to get. They are really light weight though, which is nice considering I've been using the extremely heavy Ikko OH10 a lot recently.
  • The cable sounds fine and looks like it will be durable, but it's extremely rubbery and the ear hooks are really rigid, which kind of makes the shells want to pop out of my ears (sort of the same thing that occurred with the BL03 and it's stock cable). So far I haven't found another one in my collection that'll fit with the shells (I got the 2 pin version). I still have a couple more cables I want to try though.
  • Differences in treble response from the different stock filters are too drastic, only the black one is usable to me. The blue one is pure treble murder, and the red one cuts the highs far too much. Right now I'm actually using the gold "balanced" filters from the SKC-CNT1, they seem a bit similar to the black filters, maybe makes things a bit less v-shaped. I'm lucky that I had another filter in my arsenal that works well.
  • Mids don't quite match up with the bass and treble in terms of texture and detail; male vocals in particular seem very "smooth" and "relaxed" relative to the detail provided in the treble range. There can be disconnects when you hear vividly presented female vocals (presumably handled by the piezo driver), and then hear more smooth and recessed male vocals. The other 2 IEMs I've been listening to the most this week, TRN BA5 and Ikko OH10, both have much better mids clarity and layering, so the A6 mini suffers by comparison. I think the mids sound nice, they have good tonality, but if midrange details/layering is a priority for you this is something to consider.
With that out of the way though, they really are great, and a lot of fun, because:
  • The bass is phenomenal. It digs deep, delivers a lot detail and texture, and can hit hard when needed, without ever bleeding into the mids. I love bass like this.
  • Super detailed and textured treble. Tons of micro-details, and with an appropriate filter installed, it's not harsh at all. To compare A6 mini to something in the same price range that also has a piezo driver, I like the NiceHCK NX7 (after doing a slight mod) and the amount of detail it delivers. However I also think the NX7 sometimes has a "ringing" or "chiming" effect in terms of timbre. I get none of that sense with the A6 mini's piezo, by comparison, the A6 mini treble just sounds clear and clean.
  • Killer sound stage. Expands in all dimensions, and it never collapses in when tracks get busy.
I think it's one of my better IEMs, not sure where exactly I'd rank it against my other favorites just yet, but it's a keeper. It's also got me extremely curious about the regular A6. I might need to pick that up during some sale next year.

Having issues finding the LZ A6 filter set on AE. Is it discontinued? Would really like to order a set. Any help appreciated.
Penon has them on their own web site. Sometimes they have things there which don't go onto their AE page.

They cost $45 though. Maybe you should just put that money towards a regular A6 lol
