LZ-A4 Impressions and Discussion Thread

So far, and without having tried out all possible combinations yet, I think I prefer the all black setup but tips, and even source, does also matter to me when choosing the filters.

My wishes for improvement, in sound, from the A4 prototype was higher resolution, wider soundstage and a better "out of the head" presentation. I think it's safe by now to say that I've got my wish for filled.

I'll play around with some more filters tonight and try to come up with some more early impressions/thoughts after that.

Since you mention the Rockets, then they are perhaps also in the same street as the Super Audio 6? I rather liked those, but wished they had a bit better extension at the lower end.

Yes, the general signature is along the same lines. I'd say that subbass is deeper already with the black (medium bass) back filters. Moving up to the red ones will give even more. Spontaneously I'd say the A4 is at least on par with the Super Audio 6 in overall performance but I'll have to A/B them later for more details.

I've also added some more information to post #2 to make things easier to find.

Yeah, it's coming for sure but due to the amount of possible combinations of filters I really don't wan't to rush into any overall conclusions.....

How is lza4 to flc8s?

Nice, something I'd been meaning to ask with the back-plate and nozzle rolling options...an obvious parallel.

I have to say that the sub bass is one of the best, if not the best, I have heard in an in ear monitor to date. I watched Suicide Squad extended edition with the black back filter, and man oh man was it fecking awesome. And that wasn't even with the red back filter. I honestly felt like the shell was shaking haha. Best part is that it didnt muddy up the midrange and it was so clean, very distinct from the rest of the mix.

The A4 is really growing on me, but I really have to try the other combinations first. Trouble is, the first few combinations sounded so good I forgot to try the other combinations haha.
