NiceHCK SuperBlue arrived. Only listened for about an hour so far, but early impressions are very positive. Will do. And for the NiceHCK Greyflag, Superblue and Rainbow. And KBear Hazy.
I may have a problem.
It’s hard to do justice to it in a photo. The wires are slender blue braids in clear plastic, and look very nice in person. Build quality is great, what you would expect for a higher end NiceHCK. The only complaint is that the earhooks are a bit tight, but that isn’t hard to fix with heat or a bit of stretching.
Sound: this has the warm detailed sound of a good copper cable. A slight lift in the bass and lower mids, and gentle highs without any loss of clarity. The Fan2 can run a bit hot in the treble, and the Openheart cable I was using to boost bass and tame the treble also took away some detail. The SuperBlue gives that detail back and more, while still taming the peaks. There is a little more sibilance on some tracks, but that may be the IEMs and source as much as the cable.
As with any NiceHCK you should only consider this when on sale: at ~$35 this is a really good cable, but it’s not a $200 cable. Worth buying if you are in the market for a good copper cable, warm, natural, detailed and with a slight bass boost.
