Oh boy...

Well, it seems you have money to burn, so price doesn't seem to really be the issue.

So...the choice will really be dependent on what kind of sound you're looking for.  A simple suggestion is to step over to the RE252.  The Custom 3 as you already mentioned is also a great option.  For around $150, these are great choices.  If you want more of an end-all product, you might give the CK10 a try.  About the only thing I wish it to be better at is sound stage, but coming from the RE0, it is a sizable improvement.  The level of detail surpasses the RE0.

I like the Monster Turbine Pro series... lots of detail and bass.

As far as the Monster Pros go, I cannot speak for the Golds but the Coppers are certainly not the opposite of the RE0. While they do have a bass-emphasis that is absent in the Hifiman, the speed and detail of the MTPC is reminiscent of that of the RE0 and hence it is not a total change IMO.

Fischer Audio Eterna, the exact opposite of the RE0?

I had the Eterna Rev.2 for a few weeks and I did find this to be true. I can't say I really enjoyed the change; but it was certainly pronounced and you may have different tastes!

I just received an email from them telling me the OEM version is $110 incl. shipping. Not bad, but no $90 either.

There was a post on this forum about the pricing, someone is mentioning $90 was some sort of last minute sale which was over in a day or so.. But DDM are undervalue anyways. Their cost in Japan is higher then abroad which is unheard of. Their real value is around $190 USD based on current exchange rate between dollar and Yen. Read the forum, this things worth much more then 160 USD.

OEM version? And where would I go about obtaining such a thing? Is there anything it doesn't come with?

I'm leaning towards the DDM with just a few more questions; for those of you who have it, I've heard it's similar to the IE8 in signature, but I've also read it's not a bass monster. How is that possible?

To be a little more specific, I want something a bit darker (all my current phones are rated as "bright"), thumpy and alive. Needs to have good mids even if they aren't forward. That's one fo the things drawing me to the Radius.

And the last question, do you/could you use the Radius on a regular basis? (i.e. is the odd fit a huge hassle?)

Thanks for all the help,
semi

Semisight,

there are numerous entries here on this forum describing, comparing and analyzing DDM's bases, mids and so on. Look under thread called Radius Review and impression....

I use Radius every day ever since I got them in March.  NO Hassle to my ears!I You might want to play with the tips as the once that come with DDMs are not my favorite.
