Hello I'm looking for some new headphones and this is what i'm looking for:

-open w/ good soundstage
-not too big/heavy/ugly
-no need for an amp
-price range $100-$150
i like bass but I got some subs in my car so bass doesn't have to be too heavy

i want to use them to practice guitar and listen to music on my laptop. I like all kinds of metal and rock, electronic/dance music, classical, and some rap

A pair of used Sennheiser HD580's for the slightly darker, larger sound stage side of things, or a pair of used Grado SR80's for the Brighter, Midrange centric, smaller sound stage side of things.  For guitar practice, I might lean toward the Grado's.  Just my opinion though, and the best I ever got was a wannabe guitarist 30 years ago...

Grado will sound soo good with guitar. Grados show the tones in a sweet and fun manner, and they are meant for rock anyways.

Think the Grado SR80 too...
Sennheiser HD580 is also very nice, but I think that one will be better when amped.

Good point on the Senns.  I forgot about unamped.  They are OK unamped, but not at their best.  The Grado's are fine unamped.  The 225's are even nicer, but I think run at the top of your OP's price range used.  I would skip the 125's.  I owned them once, wouldn't own them again.
