I am positive you will be happy with either of the headphones you have considered. What other experience do you have in audio, ever heard anything decent?

I don't want to hijack this thread but, does someone knows a good equivalent to the AKG Q701, it seems like its just as if you were in God-Mode.

HE-400 is open back, if you don't mind listening what's around you when gaming (a big mistake) then go for them.
DT990 works with 250ohm. Yours soundcard wont give you enough juice, you might need the 32ohm which is more expensive, and is open back.

Any headphone will serve you well. If you are willing to spend 400$ on headphones for gaming, you might consider buying a headset for gaming and other for music.

I use both the sennheiser 330 and 323 can't rem which came with the 7.1 but you can change the dongle between the headsets, personally if your a gamer I'd get the 7.1 model, or the 360 350 s. I love the feature of when you move the boom up it mutes it, and the volume on the side is good too.

As for 7.1 this is very good, I play world of tanks and its helped me loads to pin point the flipping artys

I could use my momentums or amperiors as they both have mic but I wanted a more in the way of dolby

I might be wrong but I have read that gaming headSETS were not as good as headPHONES because of multi tiny drivers in each ear cup. Moreover I already have a good mic so no need for a headSET. So anyone is using previously mentioned headphones for gaming.
