I don't think LD is getting enough love from our community in general, but I think it's a bit ridiculous that there is absolutely no information on LD's current flagship LD Y1 on head fi.

Of course this is partially LD's own problem, and the product is not even on their own website.

So, has anyone had any experience with this product?

I don't think it's that. They used to be all the rage here, but their more expensive designs didn't get much traction here, and with the rise of competitors they are probably concentrating on their home market.

Thanks for the history lesson! BTW, love your reviews on YouTube!

Little Dot just launched their newest flagship LD Y2 in China.
Also the new LD A1 combines ESS9038PRO DAC with 2A3.
Hello. Y2 is already at least one month available for the orders on TaoBao. It is an Y1 schematic with the upgraded parts. Like a Lundahl traffos, DACT volume pot and so on... The price is 18800 yan. No reviews found yet.
The previous flagship Y1 is available now for the order as a set with the DAC5 at the 40% discount!!! But the delivery price is huge... :frowning2:

In fact I'm doubt whether Y2 worth 2700usd. Especially DAC5+Y1 just sale at 1800usd.
I would rather select Cayin HA-300 or Original OPA-3A. Both are great 300b amp.
Or Opera audio Linear5/Linear X.

Some pictures about OPA-3A. Original launched a series of tube amplifiers in recent year. OPA-2A with 2A3 and 3A with 300B. Newest 4A with EL34, 5A with KT88.

Yes, sure, yuan.
Y2 or Y1+DAC5 still have much questions for me.
1. How it is possible to have a fully balanced amp with TWO 300b tubes?
2. Does any body have seen DAC5 inside photos? Is it really worth the money? Paying attention that is involves OPamps at least in one stage..?
IMHO 2700 usd for the Y2 cant be serious.

1. Only two 300B can't run fully balanced. LD Y2 using Lundahl transformer convert the balanced signal into single end signal.
2.

Thanks a lot for the information.
DAC V looks a bit dissapointing. The OPAms are even not easy changable. Is it a one channel board or is it a double sided? Since I cant find the second 4497 chip. All in all it doesnt look like a good buy for a 1100 USD...
Regarding the Y1 design: have received an answer from Little dot yesterday, where they tell me that "it is a FULLY balanced design"... without transformation... Just a miracle I think...
I understand that you are right, but it is not clear for me, why they call it a "fully balanced design"...???
