i have the koss porta pro and use a creative x-fi but the volume is just too low for it i use cheap 13 euro sony earbuds which go way louder and so better sound but that's because they are open if i use it on my pc it sounds really great so the sennehiser hd238 is also not for me so i will get me a pair of sennheiser mx880.....

I use my Portapros with my Creative Zen and find it's plenty loud. Though when they were brand new I had to have the volume all the way up to 24, anymore I have the volume set around 17 or 18. Just my 2 cents on that. The portapros are extraordinarily comfortable especially when it's warm, your ears won't get too hot because of them. I never heard the 238, but the Porta Pros seem to get better as you use them. The bass tightens up real good once they're burned in.

yeah found that out today when i game at night i use my porta pro and when i put it in my tv it cannot go very loud at all but when i connect it through my logitech z-2300 it gets way more powerfull...because it gets amped  I was shocked how much better it sounds really good pair of cans!!!!

HD 238's same price as the Porta's??? I should expect that the HD238's are counterfeit

amazon.com has the Porta's at $29 .. and the HD238's at $99.
 
 
I do like the HD238s, compfortable, slighly ... bright sound, but they're no bass bins.

true i can get the porta pro for 25 euro and the senns 238 for 80 euro so there is a big difference in price....
