LOL. That guy's constantly raving about malvalve products and defending them on this site!
 
I suppose the guy's from Europe so it was probably purchased there. European price is EUR4000 which is USD5224 using today's fx rate...

Just got my new pair of Koss ESP 950. Compared to my old Stax Sr-Lambda normal bias (which broke down a few weeks ago), the Koss is must more linear with a flatter frequency response. The sound is also more immediate -- things are happening near ears with greater detail. 
 
On the other hand, my Lambda has a slightly raised upper midrange/lower high frequency.  As a result, the sound has a more, how can I put it, pin-point presentation (I am not talking about soundstage). The Koss is so accurate and linear that it doesn't have an identifiable "personality" that goes out its way to speak to me.
 
Tremendous phones, and I objectively appreciate the quality. But it may take me sometime to subjectively enjoy them.
