Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

I appreciate the suggestions. Trying to avoid buying more than like 3 IEMs because they'll end up sitting in a drawer lol. I sure miss the website GearBest as they had such great prices. Typically just use AliExpress these days. Probably go with just the KZ x HBB DQ6s and see how it goes. I listen to a lot of rap and techno/trance/house music so need something that has good bass. The HBB DQ6s come with some comply like foam tips and for like 5 dollars more a KZ gold silver upgrade cable. Believe tomorrow Aliexpress is having a spring sale so itll be like a dollar off too. Tremendous value for 20 bucks for everything you get! Phone I use still has 3.5mm so figure get the silvery cable with mic and the gold/silver w/ no mic for ipod. I like the "pink" color is kind of like copper colored :)

If it helps, my main genres are Uplifting Trance and prog House (not the tommorowland stuff)

I do use a small EQ to boost up the bass and lower 2-4K by -1 because Uplifting trance is the brightest sounding music in existence lol

Choosing between those and CCA Trio is tricky because they have a similar configuration. The advantage of the HBB DQ6s is western tuning = more clean bass and less harshness in the vocals area (which i really hate).

I probably wont get the Trio because according to reviews, they lack some kick in the bass department.
In the graph, you can also see some sub-bass dis-advantage.

Then look at 2-4K peak compared to the DQ6s. I dont know how the Trio actually sounds, but that peak might be trouble with bright synths.

Trio does seem to have more treble energy though.

Hope HBB will make his own version of the Trio (and PR3) as well.

This is weird,
After the stepchild as16prox being sold without fanfare or even available in KZ official stores...

Now we got KZ CRA PRO being sold only through third party and without proper announcement.

You could find it in multiple different different aliexpress store for $25~30 ish

It appears in the official Aliexpress store, though (unless I'm mistaken):

Their official store in ali is the KZofficialstore.
tough it might be a bit neglected in favor of their official sites, KZTWS.com

Kz global its a third party store.
This need to be noted because the quick replace warranty only applies to KZ official store purchase only.

Holy hell, KZ/CCA have been busy.
announcing KZ ZS10Pro-X,
Stealth release of AS16Pro-X and KZ CRA Pro

and now, teaser of upcoming Flagship of CCA,

ok good, i'm trying to get a handle on your hearing to appreciate your input better.

Have you tried the Rhapsody?
No, sorry, I have not heard the Rhapsody. My recent KZs are Krila, Castor (Harman), Trio, PR3 and Symphony.

I would personally hesitate to buy something not on the official KZ websites (I only buy from kztws.com)

Thanks theres certainly polarizing opinions about the DQ6s but i really appreciate the graph backing up your claims. Not sure if I get them but if I do I'll remember the eq adjustment to help tame the higher end.

Question. Hard to search for this, and I apologize if it's been asked a lot.

What's the verdict on ZS10 Pro vs ZS10 Pro X vs ZS10 Pro 2?
I think the Pro 2 will address the treble hotness of older models. Since it uses 4 BA tweeters for the treble region.

I have AS24 (8 BA tweeters) and Rhapsody (4 BA tweeters). Their treble are pretty amazing, detailed and airy.

considering I own the zS10 and the ZS6 and prefer the 6, I have no problem with lots of treble. I'm getting the AS24 any day now and can't wait to hear it! the ZS10 pro 2 hopefully doesn't reduce the treble too much because I hated the original ZS10

Rhapsody is not that airy. It's coherent and smooth. PR1 pro is airy.

Maybe different in ear canal or unit variation, I am having the PR1 Pro with me right now (purchased directly from KZ, in their 50% discount program). Its treble is nearly like ear stabbing to me. The treble from AS24 is just right, but I have one complain about its pinna gain. Too much for me..

I think you will like it, they have 2 knobs for the ultra treble and 2 knob for the high mid / lower treble.

Fugumikan reviewed the KZ ZS10 Pro 2, and there are already English subtitles available for the video. Enjoy!

Hopefully, there will be some user-tested graphs soon. The graph from KZ for the ZS10 pro 2 really caught my attention after a long time. Was happy when the review said its reminiscent of the ZS6. A full metal body does wonders for the sound. I hope there is an actual updated metal version, but that would be fantasy land.

KZ ZS10 Pro 2 vs Trio. The #2 and #3 switch really change the bass a lot. Make it have more or less bass than the Trio default config (1111).

The 4th switch does not seem to have any impact.

The lower treble seems better, since the annoying peak at 4.5k HZ is reduced and more extension.

Vs. PR3, hope I can really get an upgrade from PR3 this time.
