Kennerton ODIN, MAGISTER, VALI, Magni, Gjallarhorn, Rögnir, Thridi, Wodan, Thekk, and Thror Discussion.

I had a long chat with Kennerton (Ivan) about the new HPs, he said:

"The Arkona and Vinneta are different despite the same driver. Vinneta has natural lows and highs and the open type of headphones adds a lot of space."
"Arkona is similar to Rognir Planar in a lot of ways in my opinion, Vinneta not at all"
in comparison with Rognir: "Arkona has more balanced bass and highs", "The highs are more moderate "mate", and in lows there are no trenches".
As for HLP vs Arkona: "The signature of Arkona overall is closer to Rognir with punch to subbass. Heartland is open so lower mids would be more thick and fat compared to Arkona".

I am still waiting for more info from him.

I am considering getting the Arkona but Foxtex is also releasing new flagships in October, so I might wait to test these first.

Can you share link to whatever info is avail?
I don't want to get anyone in trouble because of spilling the beans. There is no link, I have it on good authority from someone connected to them and that has gave me some reliable heads-up on other HPs before they were announced.

Can I promise the info is 100% solid? I can't. But I personally believe it. The source said it's going to be new RP drivers HPs.

They just released the T50RPmk4 so it sounds strange, but that what the source says. I just checked with him and he still stands by the information. Might as well treat it as a rumor as it can't be verified, but that source was accurate two times in the past about Fostex and another brand's upcoming HPs.

Speculated release date: end of October or August.

Subjective sound impression
Arkona sounds amazingly good, without any exaggeration, at the “JESUS ****ING CHRIST!!!11” level. The sound is ‘wide’, ‘large’, there’s a lot of ‘air’, the music is very dynamic.

Comparison: Arkona vs. Rognir
Currently, Rognir is Kennerton’s planar closed-back flagship device. And I didn’t write a review of this model because, from my point of view, these are very poorly tuned headphones. However, their sound is appreciated by a small number of people. But I don’t like to write reviews of what I don’t like.

So these two TOTL closed backs are obviousley very very different in his opinion...

god like vs don't care about them at all 🧐😳

no comparison to any other HPs... so do his measurements tell you guys what you want to know about them?

Arkona for those who like powerful bassy sound with big body, fat timbres.

Vinneta is for those who care more about sound quality.

Both models have the same driver, but different nuances in tuning. It's easy to see that these babies have the same parents, but the Arkona feels like the Vinneta on steroids.

If your headphones are still in Russia, I can organize for you an exchange for Arkona :)
