Hmm I was recently told they wouldn’t sell the leather band as an accessory. They will only make the covered headband as a custom version or send in the old headphones to get a upgrade/replacement on the headband.

you may be right- they may just need to send a new band already assembled for a nominal fee- totally worth it to refresh the look and function and to keep it current.. maybe Kennerton can tell us how much it would be

Waiting for a response on that...I made it known I wasn't a fan of the exposed spring steel headband introducing microphonic to the touch. Had the same problem w/ Audio-Technica W5000 using similar style.

Problem is the headband is engraved w/ the serial number linked to the warranty card. Unless there's some other place internally to identify it or they would be willing to engrave it on the newer headband, how to prove the unit still under warranty with a generic new headband?

im sure it can be done - if they build it we will come

I would certainly pay for the headband. Kennerton could offer the headband and any caps/screws etc as a “kit”. Price it intelligently and I am in queue! probably with quite a few others…

Yes I made it so the two left/right cups touch (see first pic) when hanging on stand - I love a tight fit- provides best bass dynamics and stage plus hardly any sound escapes out- it all goes towards my brain 🧠 lol

Nice, I have the Vali's and I'm used to the clamp. Would your Ghorns be similar in clamp force.
every head is different and i always recommend the pressure test while listening to music - gently push inward to see if you need to adjust tightness if it affects sound

Nice that the upgrade is offered
Too bad they can’t just send fabric by itself to snap yourself but it could be tricky with cap ends of L and R made of rubber- but at least their way is done 100% correct way for upgrade no chance of error

Caps L and R are really easy to change. I had a problem with the leather band and they sent everything to me so that I can unscrew it and change it.
