I do love photos so. How is the iBasso Sr1?

AutoEq is not completely suit my ears. I just need to change Band#1 from Gain -6 to be -1.5.
That's all.
Reason may be due to my modded SR1 (air holes for bass venting, so bass was reduced already).
No more bass bloat, bleed to mids. No more dark presentation due to less energy of highs. SR1 acts well with eqing.
Here is how AutoEq look like (except my adjustment 1st band as said)

I use AutoEq on latest NeutronMp.
I do love the sound. New color, true color of the sound.
I feel it is real. Much realistic than stock RR1

I hate to listening with my real hands are keeping on top of RR1 as in photo.
I found doing it helps huge improvement of the sq.
Idk how to say, but RR1 is too open back, with zero sound interactive of back side (I found the sound interactive with just two figures at 5cm distance from membrane)
All sound escape. A bit dry.
With hands on the top, I got sweetter melody and vocal, holograph sound stage, much realistic of mid...
I seek for a paper or plastic to stick on, but none of them help as my hand does

Thanks for your observations! I think due to fully open front and back surface area nature of Electrostatic drivers in general, any external body from either side would naturally have an impact on the Frequency Response. Of course, the merit of the changes would depend.
I personally think correction of the response would be a more elegant solution than an external unrefined modification as you could fine tune it to your target preference or your personal target reference.

After changing my hearing desk, I am closer to the amp, so I dont need a long cable (I bought extra cable). Plug the shorter one (defaut comes with RR1) then found it give more sharpness to the sound.

Start to trial a cable for RR1.
I stop at the midle now.
Not sure how to ground for R and L channel?
It seems ground wire of R and L link together but doesn't connect to the amp. Am I right?

Serial#105 arrived today

Good out the box. I’d rate it above the L300 and L500. Maybe with more time it will approach the L700. To do that it will need more detail retrieval and to gain some treble presence.

@TYATYA reported those changes with his cable change so I may have to follow suit depending on how things shape up after break-in.

Overall, they are solid pick for the price and I would recommend them to anyone getting into e-stats.
