Hello, i bought one pair of dx-1000.
i use it in balanced mode with my beta-22.
i love this headphones.
i know that there are people who don´t like the dx-1000 but i think that can be compared easily with others top hp´s.
more impressions soon.

Sold to a nice gentleman. This was one of my most reluctant sale. But, it has to go. Maybe I should aim for a R10 to compensate myself in the future when I have more resources.

Before I sent it off, I thought I should have another listen to the DX1000 just now, after so long since I stored it in the box. I found the mid range second to none of the headphones I have ever listened. ( I have been to meet and tried a huge range of headphones, ranging from Stax to whatever.)  It brings out female vocal very nicely. Having said that, it is not for hobbyist who wish to keep only one or two headphones, since the DX1000 is an oddball meant for experiencing an extreme, and as a not-to-be-miss collection.

i agree with you: the midrange with the dx-1000 is beautiful
the bass is bursting but with my beta i´ll get a little to keep in check

I agree they have an enigmatic warmth to thier sound. I was a little but in the fence because I thought sometimes they sounded a little bit honky with voices but after the recabled job wit the Zeus they are so well balanced and that honky sound has not shown back.

this one or the D7000 but I would implement the mark mods and JMoney pads on them.

we can not forget one thing: the price of dx-1000.
in europe have a very good price for the quality.
i bought mine in second hand for 350€
at this price the dx-1000 is an incredible headphone.
if i keep it, i will buy a good cable.
