How would the FXT90 be for someone who likes a balanced bass and midrange with a lot clarity with the least amount of harshness?

they're pretty 'energetic' imo which might be percieved as harsh by some... depends on where you're coming from I guess

I'm coming from the Philips Fidelio L2, a bright headphone, but I don't find them harsh in the least.

And would the bass and midrange suit someone who doesn't like a lot of bass, but rather neutral bass, and also neutral/slightly forward midrange?

Generally considered a "V" type of signature-  so bass and treble/upper mids are north of neutral, but the mids don't sound too recessed (thinking of Beyer 770)- I think because bass isn't too elevated -  'punchy' maybe- it doesn't bleed into mids imo... I've moved on to more bass heavy headphones lately so it sounds a little light to me.. The fxt200 and fxh30 both have more bass quantity I think, but I like the character of the 90's bass.

It's been over a year since I used HD25-1 ii but in my memory I think of them as somewhat similar, if you've ever heard those.

And what about the upper end of the treble (11khz and above) is that region emphasized as well?

Don't have them at hand, haven' t listened to them a lot lately but I never felt they were missing detail.

Maybe also check out Joker's "Balanced" recommendations here if you haven't already: http://theheadphonelist.com/earphone-buyers-guide/
slightly different list here http://theheadphonelist.com/2015-holiday-buyers-guide-the-most-gift-worthy-earphones-for-audiophiles-and-music-lovers/

Do you think the treble is a bit harsh/sibilant?

Do you think the treble is a bit harsh/sibilant?

Think I already answered that- kinda relative/subjective thing- for me, I would say bright, maybe more grainy than smooth? Personally I don't find it harsh but I'm somewhat trebleheaded.

You can see the fR charts with different compensations here http://www.innerfidelity.com/images/JVCHAFXT90.pdf and here http://en.goldenears.net/15421

Sibilance isn't bad for me, can hear when it's there but it's not super peaky like some earphones can be- like a lot of earphones maybe affected by tips/fit a bit (I like small Aurisonics tips with them but stock tips were fine for me too).

Have you heard the FXD80?

What earphone has less harshness, the Fischer DBA-02 or the FXT90? I'm heavily considering these 2, as I've heard they both have excellent clarity and mids.

I haven't heard the DBA 02 but I think they might be hard to find these days. Have you looked at Audio Technica IM02? I had those for a while and they have been one of my favorites but were an uncomfortable fit for me-  they have good mids and treble that is detailed but smooth- maybe not as fun as fxt90 and a little source variable, unfortunatley the price has gone up, used to be only $150. "

I have some Zero Audio Doppio's coming in soon, also dual BA armature, have read they also do a bright-but-smooth kinda sound, hoping they get close to the im02.

I can only trade my current headphones for new IEMs as of right now, since I'm going to buy a Hifiman HE-400i, and don't want to waste money on new IEMs when I can just trade my current headphones with good IEMs.

I've looked at the IM02, I've send everyone a PM on the classifieds forum that still sells them that I want to trade, but no response so far. I've only gotten responses from 2 people so far that want to trade their FXT90, or the DBA-02 that's why I asked my question.

Suggest asking for recommendations over on Joker's Multi-Iem Review thread, it's more active than this, he pops in sometimes to answer recommendation requests, and has heard tons of IEMs- reviewed both fxt90 and dba-02 IIRC (and the other people there might have good suggestions too), helps to give a budget and maybe an example of an iem you've heard and how you'd want it improved (i.e. "like the _____ but with more mids and smoother treble" ).
