I'm surprised that nobody tried to drill those babies like a russian modder, maybe there's the future!

That's not exactly one of those trial and error kind of mods.

If you want to do that, you have to
a.)  really know what you're doing, or
b.)  really not care about what happens if it doesn't help (or makes things worse).

I'm happy to hear these tips are helpful to you. The rubber bands make mod changes much faster as well as avoiding stripping the threads.

i stripped out the threads for a couple of screws in my D2000.  i was going to apply some SuperGlue-Gel with a needle to one-half of the thread hole, but this is much neater.  thanks for the tip!

This thread is inspiring, really makes me want to get some T50RPs and start modding away.  I decided to create an account instead of lurking like normal just to say that you guys rock.

Oh also, does anyone know if these are in stock anywhere?

I haven't checked around recently, but you may just want to put yourself on the "notify" list at bhphotovideo, unless you're too antsy for that.  They sell the T50RP at the MSRP instead of inflated prices, and they seem to be by far the most popular vendor for them.  I'm not sure how long they're usually back-ordered for, but I got an "in stock" email only a few days after putting myself on the list (back when I bought my pair).

*Out of curiosity, has anyone tried anything like this?  I think Mr. Speakers (or maybe Hennyo?) said he doesn't expect diffusion to help much due to the small cup size, but I'm just wondering.

I tried it with some honeycomb plastic things and honeycomb cardboard.

Feel free to try it and let me know what you think....

Does the Rp2i config need to remove the bass vent felt or just cover 20% of it by pax mate or electrical tape?

Vent felt is removed. The top 3 vents should be covered on the inside with paxmate/acoustic foam, and I covered those same vents with tape on the outside as well. The bottom vent should be left completely open on the inside, though it is fine if the cotton stuffing covers it. Then you can tune sound by taping up part of the bottom vent on the outside to your liking.

no. you obviously have to go in your backyard and punch the bees in it's face and rob them of their honey combs. it's only logical thing to do to get the purest form of honey combs.

Darn...never tried cereal!

Although I wouldn't recommend rice crispy cereals off the bat. I think they would produce too much snap, crackle and pop. Good for reproducing that vintage vinyl sound though...

Maybe we've accidentally stumbled over the big Paradox mod secret.  Quick, we need someone to do systematic tests with different breakfast cereals.  (would all-bran keep the bass moving?)
