I tried the gasket aswell! Pads, baffle and cup is now sealed. Seal is IMPORTANT to get the drum slam I think. Some 3mm cellulose sponge in the cup HELPED A LOT. It was moistured when i put it inn, wonder If drying It will change the sound. Try some irregular sponge, I'ts reversible. Cover the whole cup, 4 mm, not too much over the reflex dot. Driver should be able to breathe.

Basically, yes.  If you're unwilling to do such a task, would you consider selling the Paradox?  I'll then take on the task, document the process and publish the pictures here on the forum.

I really recommend you don't do that.....

No comment to the above. My Paradox will never leave my possession... ever... I am that happy. Sorry I shared the idea that having them totally sealed is probably a good idea.

I don't think discussing the possibility of reverse-engineering and sharing the work of fellow head-fiers without their consent is in sane spirit at all. I am all for sharing knowledge, but that's just unfair.

Oh, I somehow missed the wink, derp.

Maybe you guys should just figure out your own way of making them sound good.  There's no magic secret.  Except for good ears.

I get where you're coming from, but some of us simply don't have the resources* to accomplish such a successful mod.

*Be it enough money, in the form of a second set of good enough cans to compare these to (or a second pair to mod all along), enough time to experiment, and above all sufficient experience and/or good enough ears to improve the sound with a measure of certainty. Yes, I'm aware that makes me less of a 'true' head-fier, yet all I know is that all my pairs (Grados, RE-ZEROs, T50RP) are deficient in some way and these could be improved to sound heck of a lot better. Edit: And this pair will not withstand much more modding, the cup screws are almost done for.

You might try filling the cup screw holes with super glue, use a drill bit slightly smaller than the stock baffle-to-cup screws, and see if the screws will self-tap new threads.

I should find some good ears and rip them off.. Mine aren't good enough :)
I don't think wje was actually serious.

Correct, I was not.  It was kind of fun to play a trick on the Paradox, though - since it was mentioned with such level of illusion.  Who knows?  I may try them and think the sound is not right for my ears.  I doubt that there's hardly one headphone that will satisfy thousands of people.  Sure, it may satisfy them to a degree, but maybe not 100% all the time.  That's the beauty of this forum - and, basically what I've been involved with here for the past several years.  Collaborating with many users to start with a base item and move it forward in a positive and beneficial way.  I think the purpose of these DIY and improvement threads are all about sharing ideas - and, then taking some of those ideas and expanding upon them further.

In regards to those "few" members who feel that they have finally reached the ultimate level of sound with such headphones - yet, have participated mainly as an armchair quarterback, I don't find those people to be valid contributors.  Instead, they are just people who are taking up bandwith and not contributing towards the efforts of these threads.  I'd align them more with leeches than contributors.  Just my .02

I think the threads are fine, it's the heads that are almost spent (and yes, I did try to find the correct screwdriver, but not a single one seemed like a right fit).
