It's still 3AM Florida time, waiting another few hours before calling them. I am willing to buy another 2 pairs for my family so I better know if the one dual was removed. If so I will pick the Jh13's instead of  the 16's

Didn't Heir audio managed to make a 20 drivers CIEM?

(this is from heir audio's facebook page)
This can be a good picture for counting drivers

I just looked at my 13s and I don't think they are the same drivers. They are positioned similarly but my tweeters look smaller. I believe the 16 uses a custom TWFK dual tweeter driver for the highs and that's what yours looks like. I suspect that they did exactly what they said that they would and mod your 16s to your preference.

ok,,, managed to take a better picture of my JH16.

you should be able to see the 2x dual lows stacked together, then the dual mids placed right above the quad lows and the dual highs which is the smaller drivers at the extreme right of the shell...

a picture speak a thousand words...

This is not what I have. If you check the pictures I sent, I have 2 duals in the botton and one in the corner. Are the tweeter and midrange duals of the same size ?  I can see something very tiny connected at the end, I am not sure if it's the crossover.

I got an answer from JHA that my IEMs were remade, nothing removed.

They said they're not sure why the sound is much better now but could be the bores placement.

I am going to make some extensive tests to see what could have changed.... I feel like a lunatic audiophile

I'm pretty sure your ears aren't lying to you. Some say your ear is your worst enemy in this hobby. I think that's bs. Trust your ears :). There could have been many factors impacting the sound of your first unit. Just be glad that it's your cup of tea now :).
