Hi SpudHarris. They were shipped on the 15th and arrived at my door on the 21st. They were in the UK on the 17th so most of the time was internal movements and customs clearance. I paid £36.03 duty. Lower than anticipated.

Pictures will be later - they sound great!

A few pictures, because I know how much I think it aids others to decide for themselves.

Sound test for Sincelot. Greatest value here would be if we each showed a 'common' head phone too.

Hope these help.

Many thanks for the suggestion. I fear the earth shattering base might rupture the paint and cause earthquakes. . . oh sorry, that was just in my head!

The issue is that this tests the hearing of the user, as much, if not more so than the earphones themselves. So the test of a "common" phone would really only mean anything if it was done by the same user, from the same soundcard/DAC, as a test of the JH13.

Even then, I got a much different result trying that test. I'm not going to post the curve, as I don't think this is all that productive, but my test did not tail up at the ends of the spectrum anywhere near as much.

It's a fun little test, but I don't think we should take the results to be universal, or anything to make broad conclusions from.

Haha, awesome!

Bojamijams, my best headphones right now are the grado 225's. Have you heard these before? If so, how do they compare?

Btw, my 13's should be shipping this weeek; it's a lot of fun watching you guys enjoy your own pairs

Edit: Just read your profile page, saw that you've had the 225's before.

x2. This has been my sentiment since I first sat down and did my detailed comparison with the HD800.

Better in every possible way.. with a soundstage to boot!

Seriously, you'll know yourself when you get them. And then you'll be back here. And you'll start of your post with WOW... trust me, you'll see :p

I have used the 13's with my modified Woo 6 and zero hiss. I do prefer the sound though from the d10.

I completely agree. If we all had one common headphone then we could remove the 'human' bit. I expected a much 'deafer' high end. I'm a 44 year old that has enjoyed louder than normal music the whole of his life. The apparent flatness of such a large range is interesting though. It seems that the JH13 does 'tune out' the natural response on the ear. We'll only know when JH does an interview for us here on Head-Fi !!!

also the loudness at which you listen adds to the effect of the curve which makes it even harder to make a valid reference

Right - if they had a button to press to plasy a white noise tone and said "get a sound meeter and play this tone at 80dB on your headphones before doing the test" - then it would in a sense be calibrated so that everyone doing the test is using the same volume. Still doesn't account for differences in headphones and the individual's hearing, but it would be better.
