Nothing. It takes the power from USB and regulates it down to be very clean. Hence all that plugs in is a USB cable on one end, and RCA or mini on the other. No power cords or batteries required.

ah very cool! Damn guess I will be looking into it then! What cable do you recommend for getting the signal from the dac to a portable amp?
A decently made, non-overpriced one.
That is the extent of my "belief" that cables effect sound quality. Blue Jeans Cable or the like is your friend, if you lack DIY skills. I refuse to pay 100x parts cost markups for anything, but especially something I can make myself.

Does the JH13 scale well with the source? Has anybody tried them will $1500+ CDPs or DACs?

The Pico DAC is as good, if not better, than many of those. A portable headphone amp is really all IEM's need to shine. The only significant improvement over such a rig would be using a $4k+ DAC like an EMM Labs, Lavry Gold, APL, etc.
That said, I think a transducer this detailed, fast, transparent, and balanced, should have no trouble scaling with the quality of gear you stick behind it.

It doesn't seems to be a mistake. It is the same on both earpieces.
But on the right one [left ear, right in the photo] there is a flash/blink on it.

Its also at the same way at hockey213 pair.
And its not a hole, its the a glue or the acrylic to glue the crossover or what ever it is.

Great, I got called off from work and will get to be home when the 13's arrive. Woo hooo. . . Now for some good blues, Grateful Dead and listening to different amp combos. . .

I'd guess its an air bubble. Certainly not a hole. If you want to see a hole in a custom IEM, I will take a pic of my UE5c for you.
