I’ve been using a silver cable or SPC cable with the D02.

I’m currently using this KBEAR cable, since it matches.

What KBear cable is that?

I’ve currently got the banned YY UPOCC, the KBear Ryhme 8 and the FAAEL 4 Core in my AliExpress basket.

What’s the preference of the above including yours posted?

It’s this one. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000287447307.html

My favorite sounding cable with the D02 is an all silver cable, the TRN T3, but aesthetically, I like the KBEAR cable linked above, and the sound difference is only slight. I like the sound of the treble most with the silver cable.

I have the Westone W3 which is quite bass heavy and was looking for a more balanced pair of IEM's.

I can get the D02 for just under half the price of the H40 on AliExpress 11.11 sale. I have money there for the H40 so should I get the D02 and maybe upgrade the cable with rest of the money?
Get the D02. You won't be disappointed.

After further listening, the D02 is not for me (although I fear I've simply been much too spoiled by the NM2+). Listed in the classifieds if anyone in the CONUS is interested in a LNIB D02 with fast shipping.

What exactly of D02 did not suit your taste?

Mainly the timbre on acoustic music. (It might be coincidence but all the metal IEMs I've tried have more pleasing and natural timbre to my ear than resin IEMs.)

Hey guys,

you sure did get also the email from penon with the 11.11 deals and I consider to buy a pair of IEMs. I‘m quite happy with the H40, love the impactful bass, the non fatiguing highs and the good soundstage.
Is there anything out there around the 300$ price range (especially in the 11.11 deals) that might satisfy myself as much as the H40?

Look into the LZ A7. It’s very versatile. I ordered it.

I'm right on the edge of trying the D02 - the H40 sounds fantastic, but my budget is really very limited. The D02 sounds like it's got a unique overall sound, and is masterfully made/tuned at the same time, while being the same price as some recent W-shaped kings like the IT00 and the NF A2. I love and have been most impressed by single DD IEMs during my "travels" so far.

I am about 85% happy just sticking with my Blon03s, and they're certainly the best bang for buck I can imagine. Around $80 for potentially an all-round upgrade does not sound unreasonably though, especially if I went on to sell the Blon's to ship away at the expenditure even more.

It's hard for me to pin down what FR I like - I have loved the ER2XR, the SSR, and the Blon03s just about equally - and I know the Blons are the odd ones out on that list of 3. I do love the added bass and soundstage on the Blons, and I think the D02 would deliver there?

Thanks, they‘re on my list. Do you (or others) consider them as an update to the H40? Or are the H40 that good that there are no real competitors in the sub 400$ price range?

But the A7 may be too bright or sparkly for my taste, eben with the different filters.

The Orb is an excellent complement to the H40 with a more vocals oriented sound.
