4.7 I think. Itching to say something but hard to pin point and proclaim about the sound changes. Probably very subtle at the most. Both mesh are basically there to guard ear wax mostly. Nylon mesh may restrict airflow little more and act as acoustic damper but very minimal.

@Dsnuts was right. D02 sounds simply effortless with a good clean signal and strong currents fed to them. I need to listen to it more, but this just might surpass my Tanchjim HANA as a top dog with a good combination of musicality and technical proficiency.

So here it is. DSC07509.JPG https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/isn-d02.24614/reviews
You guys already know what I have to say about these. A weekend reader about the D02.

Yep. These don’t need a lot of power to drive, but they sure like it.

D02 (switch at ‘1’ - burned in for around 50 hours)
IT00 (slightly attenuated midbass by non reversible mod; mids and treble reverted to stock setting)

D02 has slightly more bass resolution coupled with cleaner bass attack/decay with more textures. IT00’s mids have smidgen more resolution than the D02, however D02 has more extended highs with better treble details.
D02 has less colored sound and tonality is more neutral leading to a better timbre.
Urbanfun YBF is still little bit better in terms of timbre though. IT00 is colored but has very pleasant and romantic sound to it.

IT00 even with the bass reduction modification has more impact and subbass extension than the D02. Vocals on the IT00 are smoother sounding than D02 and upper mids definitely have smoother elevation for gentler pinna gain.
D02 has post 2khz elevation that I need to EQ down slightly to avoid minor shouty-ness.

Soundstage widths are about the same, but the D02 has a deeper staging.
Imaging, instrumental positioning and transparency are better on the D02.

Isolation is slightly better on the IT00

I get major driver flex with the IT00,
hardly any on the D02.

Both IEM shells are superbly comfortable for me. D02 sits little more flush to my ear.

personal score
D02: 8.2/10
IT00: 8.0/10(Stock), 8.2(Modded)

Atm I'm searching for a good budget on the go solution, I thought I found it with IT00 but the more I listen to it the more I'm bothered by some of the flaws in build and tuning. Let me first say I was mostly influenced by @audio123 to get IT00, and I agree he was not wrong it's a fantastic set i don't regret getting them I was just unlucky because 2 things bother me now.
Firstly I find the overall tuning quite pleasant actually one of the best I ever tried but as I am treblehead I find IT00 treble recessed and missing few DB... Already I posted this in IT00 dedicated thread. What I did to solve this issue besides few mods (which did very little) I had to add few DB to make it sound the way I like, and that would be:
2k +2db
4k +3db
8k +3db
16k +2db
Rest of the spectrum I find very nice, mid bass is a bit elevated but I don't mind it.

And the second issue I have is they just won't stay in my ears securely. Seal is very flimsy and the sound drasticly changes when I'm adjuting them and with that horrendous driver flex its becoming pretty annoying. Granted I still have to do additional tip roll as I'm waiting for some tips to arrive. No luck with current tip collection. BTW this is the first iem I tested with this lousy fit, even the blon 03 with spacer and right cable fit me perfectly, great seal and everything.

So I'm asking anyone who has heard both IT00 and D02, is there a chance that I would like D02 treble. I just can't listen to stock IT00 anymore. But like I said EQd and with good seal they are fantastic.
Few people already reported no driver flex with D02 which is good, and I suppose they would fit me much better than IT00.

@tgx78 you also mentioned here post 2k elevation which had me worried for a second.
Even though I'm not very sentitive to treble that region 2-4k I find problematic shouty vocals and harsh guitars I just couldn't stand on bqeyz spring 1. Can you elaborate a bit more?
Thanks

The Macgyver tool of the hobby. Not duct tape, but micropore tape. It works wonders sometimes.

Opened it up and checked how tubing was installed. As you can see they are slightly angled behind a stock steel mesh. I feel I needed to get rid of that metal mesh to eliminate unwanted reflection and resonance point. Switched it out with a thin nylon type Tanchjim filter. Still trying out different ear-tips to find an optimal sound path for my ear canal.

Hey, is the default grill have mesh nylon behind it?

I dunno if you read my post about modding BL03 on Blon thread, i measure different kind of materials for damper and yes the micropore covering 3/4 nozzle is the easiest way yet with one of the effective result.

There was no nylon behind the metal mesh.

I lost my roll of 3M micropore tape. Time to hit Amazon.

With the Spinfit CP145, I don’t notice it as much as before. If this peak bothers people I think there are easy mods you can try with micropore tapes and cotton balls.

I found a simple solution to ameliorate the peaks. A.........Copper cable (and a bit of Hiby MSEB) They are now my go to set.

Not a direct review but I sold my l3 and kept the h40. Bass is handsdown better on h40. Soundstage and separation as well.
And as reference I have the Sony ier z1r and I am listening to the h40 more often
I know it’s a matter of preference, but what characteristics are making you listen to the H40 over the Z1R for now? I’d appreciate it if you would elaborate. TIA.

So, now I’m wondering, how is the imaging and instrument separation on the H40? How does the H40 compare to the Mofa Trio?

Sir any suggestions for a good upocc single ended. Under 60$. I don't have a balanced amp.
There is a UPOCC sold by a banned name, Yy. There is also the KBEAR Rhyme that is listed as UPOCC, though there are doubts about that claim. It does seem like a great cable regardless though.

I don't think they are upocc but the amazing value FAAEAL copper cable is almost too good to be true. I use it on the TRi i3 4.4mm MMCX and I love it. For just over £11/$14 a very nice cable indeed. They are available on Ali.
