Sent you a PM.

Wait, you can see the INSIDE of your gunmetal filter? Because I understand that you're talking about the hole along the nozzle, but I can't see the hole inside the nozzle since it's blocked off on both ends. Mesh on the tip side and different mesh on the driver side. I can see the inside of my silver and purple filters, but the gunmetal ones have a cover on the inside on the driver end that doesn't let me see the inside of the filter the way I can with the silver and purple ones. There isn't something weird about mine is there @Bobtrinity?

Thought you already did

Gots mesh on both ends of mine too. No way to see inside. Confusion rising

The vent I am referring to is a tiny hole on the side of the filter just to the above the threads.  Pull your ear tips off and look around the base of the filter.  Does that help?
Cheers!

PS -If it's covered with a screen or mesh, that is NOT the vent I was talking about!

I know exactly which hole you're talking about. @Mr Trev and I seem to be confused regarding you saying you saw that hold blocked on the INSIDE of the nozzle since neither he nor I can see inside the nozzle due to mesh being on both ends of the filter. Clear that confusion up for us please? Did you simply mean that you're looking through that hole and it looks like it's got blockage on the side that's inside the nozzle? Cuz then I think I understand how you were looking at it haha.

What @Midgetguy said. The hole at the base of my nozzles is behind the screens, maybe that's the problem. I know one of my nozzles has the mesh inserted deeper than the other (I posted pics earlier)

No, I never saw inside the filter.  Bob just told me to ensure the vent was opened all the way through.  I inserted the drill bit and it was stopped by the blockage.

Mellowatic is the one who said he could see the inside of his gunmetal filter:  http://www.head-fi.org/t/760277/introducing-trinity-audio-engineering/1860#post_11868433

Guys - whatever you do - DON'T pierce the membrane inside the filter.  The vent hole is external

See this pic:

If you look at the purple filter - see the tiny pin-hole on the outside - the gun-metal one is slightly smaller, but in the same location.

In this pic you can see it just under the tip rim (left earpiece in photo)

That is the vent you need to open up if blocked :)

OK, that's what I thought. The vent hole shouldn't be visible on the inside of the gunmetal nozzles.

Whew! Cool, we're all on the same page then. I was thinking the exact same thing, definitely was looking in the right place @Brooko. I hope @MelloWatic is able to work out what's going on with his.

I'm embarassed but I've got to try my luck.

So this weekend I'll be in London for the CanJam. The alignment of my stars didn't work out so I'm without any proper iem at the moment. The 2 Delta's I've gotten are in Turkey, gifted both of them (sister+father), so I can't even borrow them for the w-e. My Savant which I was hoping of picking up at CJ got pushed back 2 weeks. My Omegas+Duozas are in the USA at Earwerkz ^^
I found in a drawer old and dusted Creative iems that came with the X-Fi player. They are still working, not super but my Sony ZX2 still makes em enjoyable.
I'm ashamed I'll only have those to try and audition the DAPs and amps during CJ. Especially the QP1R which I was looking forward to comparing to my ZX2.

Why am I saying this? Well here's my offer if 3 seemingly random variables coincide:
Would there be someone coming to CanJam London + who might have gotten an extra Delta + who'd be willing to trade it for my Fiio X5 original (with box and all) ?

I think I figured out what @MelloWatic was referring to. If you shine a light through the bottom of the nozzle, and look through the top screen you can see a strip of something (filter?) on the inside of the nozzle where the vent will be. I stumbled across this checking to see if my vents were blocked by shining a light through the nozzles - they're not, btw.

Correct.

BTW to those looking for the vent hole, it is a tiny hole located on the side of the Gunmetal filter near the base.

After reading earlier posts, I decided to check whether my vent hole was blocked or not. So I used a torch to shine some light into the bottom of the filter to see if the light is visible through the vent hole.

I was able to see light through the vent hole alright. But upon closer inspection, I noticed that there seems to be some sort of translucent mesh-looking material covering the vent hole on the inside. I then shined light on the bottom of the filter while peering through the top, and saw a strip covering the vent hole on the inside.

I haven't tried poking them yet.

What I don't understand is why cover the inside of the vent hole if it was meant to be pierced through anyways.

Perhaps @Bobtrinity can confirm and enlighten us on this?
