Introducing the Audeze LCD-R!

No problem. Note that I am a professional engineer (aerospace industry), father, baseball coach, hockey coach...so my time is very limited and reviewing gear I don't like doesn't fit within my schedule. The time involved, the many hours of careful listening, note taking, system tweaking, etc... can be very intensive and doing this for stuff that sounds poor is something I won't do. Instead, please go to reviewers (and there are many) who hate absolutely everything they review (maybe they have more time on their hands)...you might find them more helpful.

But if there's something I didn't review and but experienced and I didn't like, you'll hear me comment on it on Head-Fi...just like I've been doing for almost 12 years.
teacher of many, master of none.

You're right, and since it lowers the rest of the frequencies, I can actually turn the volume up past 9 o'clock!
Liking it so far!

yah. using my Hugo 2 as a dac right now, and I do listen fairly quiet, but I had to turn the H2 down from LO level to get iout of channel imbalance on the amp (like past maybe 8:30 on the dial with 7 being off)

Only Fried can tell us that.
Or you can look at technical specifications. Like the v590, you'll see under 2W at 16 ohm and falling. You are trying to force voltage and current requirements.

True that! I can't deny it!

That's our hobby it's one of the craziest out there :beerchug:

V590 is a good amp but Niimbus has way more power. I'm awaiting Frieds answer. We will see.
But I'm unsure to go for such a Ribbon Audeze even Niimbus drives it. The R will be one of the last classic LCD I'm sure LCD 5 will be a big change in weight and I have the Susvara so why go for a LCD-R. I want the next step clearly above Susvara hahaha

next step clearly above Susvara = SR009S + KGSSHV Carbon + EQ.

IMHO of course ;)

Sigh. 7W/50ohm is not much more than 6.4W/50ohm.

I'm just letting you know you will likely trip the Niimbus into protection. It's rated to go to 8 ohms.

I already had it hehe. And no 009s is not better. It's thin even on Carbon vs Susvara which has better tonality.
Nowadays I only have a SR007 SZ2xxx bass port mod driven by my KGSShv Carbon and a Orpheus clone yeahhhhhh!
