Do first impressions without "burn-in" count? What if something changes after three days? We're talking one Audeze "Ribbon" Hp + 1 modded Schiit Jot. amp requiring "burn in" and an unknown X-factor Dac no-one can predict in this particular conversation...

Thanks to everyone for your support with this product, and we’ll try to answer some of the questions we’ve seen come up recently. We are indeed sold out, and we do NOT have any sort of waitlist. All we can suggest is to call us in 3-4 weeks to see if anyone has returned a system. Also, to be clear, we have no intention of building more units. Since we’ve seen people post that we should have made 500 units, maybe we’ll see someone make a T-shirt that says “Free the 433.” Once again, many thanks!

I predict that they move away from the LCD name and go with a new chassis / model name all together. The "R" seems like a Swan Song of the LCD line. Almost like what Audeze wanted to do for a while, but couldn't because there wasn't an amplifier to support only 1 headphone in the world. Luckily Schiit is awesome and they like messing around too. They could have also called them LCD-HC (High Current) since everything is all about high current running through (wood cups and the 2ohm drivers+amp)

Almost like an Audeze version of the HE-90/HE-60

The amp need to be at least 100 wpc. That needs to be mentioned @John Massaria. We are talking decently powerful speaker amp at that point

Yes one way or another we have to buy amp for ribbons - I got an Adcom and a B&k amp cheap on ebay but the lcdR has the amp included in the price but you can’t use other amps with the LCDR as I read or it will void warranty

You know, I was going to joke around and say if anyone wants to offer me 10k ill just ship em now, but not that I've listened I think I may need to reconsider. These are very very solid off of initial impressions (aka 3 songs). Never heard sus or 1266 but detail it similar to utopia is my gut check. We will see how opinions evolve over the next while.

Come general aesthetic comments. The grills are prettier than the cup surrounds. Reminds me of an old linnen loom made with brass. Also, the fazors are massive. Like holy crap. They don't touch my ears but this will 1,000% be an issue for some

EDIT: Grills are a right hand twill. Thats why they look so awesome. because they are legitimately a proper fabric weave

Perhaps the residents of Los Angeles County. Drive 8 min out and the arbitrary restriction poofs away. Plus who needs to go out when you have the LCD-R at home!

Ethereal. Like I'm floating in the music. I haven't touched the bass shelf switch yet so I can't say much about the bass at this time. It's there and has a punch but the response is so damned fast! That's all I can really sat at the moment...

FWIW, it does work. Brings up the presence for sure, but no more slam than normal

So.... who is the crazy one thats gunna throw these on an HSA-1b first?

The fazors do touch my ears but I can get used it very quickly...
