Introducing Shanling M7 - Portable Hi-Fi Android Player

We had many users running 1TB cards on our platform, haven't seen any issue.

Of course, it might be due to some files you have there, good for them to test it.
Well, it has been a month now since I bought this DAP. I have spent 1200 USD and I cannot use it since it is still tested by seller. How disappointing. I expect getting new unit. Please do something. This situation is far from normal.

We have no information on your unit, will try to check.

All the app that i install is automatically place on the screen, is there anyway to hide it? Is this due to andriod 10?

M7 run very hot after 45min, how do u guys cool it during usage?
This is due to the launcher used in our players, I don't think there is any way how to completely hide the app icons. I just throw the less used ones into one folder.

The "body" of the device runs hot by design. The body is used as a heatsink to draw heat from the dac chip.
I had ibasso dx240, it doesn't become hot, warm at most. Was surprise how hot m7 is after 1hr usage, like a mini toaster.

I guess the aluminum body is doing it's job well .. but too well that I can't use it in my pant's pocket, would not want to fry my balls.

That's the only minor issue for me, everything else is perfect with this dap, fantasic bass respond.

Absolutely love my M7, but the heat that it puts out is alarming. Not quite enough to cause burns, but if you block the airflows, it becomes uncomfortable to hold. Killer sound, though.

M7's wifi download speed at 3mb/s, streaming for hi res music is unbearable. How can such a expensive player exhibit such problem?
It does not. I can stream 4K video and high res music and the download speed for Tidal is super fast. Could it be your connection?

Download link remain at 6mb/s with my home 5ghz nokia wireless mesh, wpa/wpa2 setting. I think it just not compatible with my mesh.

I use a wireless repeater (extend wifi range) to add on a separate similar 5ghz network with same wpa2 setting. It work well with m7 with respectably download speed.

As its open andriod, i also plug a lan cable directly to m7, and it work superbly well.

I hope they can resolve theis wpa2 issue with certain router. It's putting me off getting the m9 plus.

I presume you own the M7, if so, when and where did you buy your M7?

"Absurd hot", my hands must be heat resistant!

"I am not going to mention that the sound is lifeless". You just mentioned it, so describe what you mean by "the sound is lifeless".

All my years of listening to music, I have never heard anyone make such statements without justification. Especially when there is no justification.

The M7 sounds absolutely brilliant to my ears. Yes, it gets warm, quite warm, but hot?.....absurdly hot?

Impatiently awaiting your response.
Hot its Fiio M11 plus ltd. M7 is simply a bit hot. My Fiio battery is swollen after 18 months.

Hot meant the heat sink is doing the job well to release the heat from the player. But not too good for our hand. I use a small usb fan for m7, it draw away the heat really fast.

Sometime i wonder, dx240 which is made of plastic and also 9038 pro chip, where does the heat goes? Maybe it's plastic casing able to insulate the heat from our hand well, but ......

I was IBasso funboy but switched to the Shanling house sound after having the M9 for some time (have had dx80, dx200, dx220, dx300, dx320 with amp12EXN, amp13).
Now a very happy owner of the M8. This bass, smooth, detailed trebles, amazing soundstage combined with an AK type of background blackness and sophisticated layering are the factors that give me goosebumps.
Hi. And comparing M7 to Kann Max? Im really interested.
