Introducing Shanling M7 - Portable Hi-Fi Android Player
Mar 26, 2023 at 9:34 PM Post #406 of 509
After 2 days of use my M7 is dead. No reaction to buttons, screen, charging. Nothing! Sent back to the seller. So sad...
In such cases we would recommend to do some basic troubleshooting, this is in pretty much 99% cases just a system glitch and can be resumed easily.

But how could I do that? DAP was dead for 2 days and I could do nothing. So sent it back.
As you already shipped your unit back, the Audeos will check on it.

@Shanling, are there plans to update the M7 to Android 11 or 12 in the future? If not, please think about it. iBasso recently updated the DX240 to Android 11... I am just hoping that this very enjoyable (and expensive) device has support for years to come.

No info on this.

We provide support for our devices for multiple years (As can be seen for example on M6), but there is a difference in what we can do between firmware updates and actual system upgrades.

I just got it back from the seller. Again, it was working for 2 hours. Battery fully charged. So I left it home for 1 hour. After I came back it was bricked again. No response, no way to charge it, nothing.

Just got it back from Audeos. I played it just for 2 hours (even less than that). Left it home for 1 hour. After i came back it was bricked again. No reaction to buttons, no possible to charge it. I am sending it back again.

May I ask what apps you were running on it? We got message from a distributor that they tested it and they found no issue at all.

Is the LED light stuck on Red?

The current security date is August 2020, that's pretty dangerous for a device that has access to the internet, the play store, personal accounts and streaming content.

At minimum, the software team should update the security level to 2023. There are other 660 based devices that have been updated to Android 12.

Also can you have the software team look into the native file date structure. Once you transfer music files to the internal memory or to the external sd card the date structure of the files gets disorganized. It makes it impossible to sort files or folders by "add date", "modified date" or "created by" dates.

Yeah it is very disappointing from Shanling I switched from Fiio because their Android versions were lagging far behind and even new devices were 2-3 version behind current versions, I bought M7 thinking Shanling is a better company in terms of providing latest software updates and keeping up to date with Android versions. I guess I have to get out of DAP world and just stick to USB or bluetooth dongles.

90% sure the problem is in compatibility with high capacity and fast sd card. I am using SanDisk Extreme PRO 1 TB micro SDXC I V30 U3 A2. Seller with test it.
We had many users running 1TB cards on our platform, haven't seen any issue.

Of course, it might be due to some files you have there, good for them to test it.
