Introducing Shanling M3 Ultra - New Generation of Compact Android Portable Player
Feb 5, 2023 at 3:49 AM Post #136 of 230
I've owned Opus #1$ since 2019 and i'm fully tired of it's battery problem (i've replaced 3 batteries yet and now I face the same problem).
So, I'm looking for some not expensive DAP but with better sound.
Could anyone compare M3Ultra with Opus #1S?
Does M3Ultra sound totally natural without any harshness or boomy (as Opus #1s does)?

Thanx.
Love my m6 pro and m3x. Great hardware. Excellent build quality much better than fiio m11 (volume wheel) But omg get your stuff together in the software department. Live albums are a no go with your app and that fix should be paramount for you.

We are very well aware of this on it's been on the to-do list of our software team since 2019.

Shanling hardware + Free Hiby music app = Brilliant
Shanling hardware + $10 UAPP = Astounding

I love these players enough to concede that I'm just buying hardware and need to supply playback software and music. 😁. FWIW

Let go of my m3x and picked up an open box m3 ultra. Definitely a step up from the m3x. It has the dynamics and punchiness the m3x lacked, plus better detail retrieval. Still a step behind the m6 ultra in stage and detail, but the m3 ultra is a lot of fun.

Software works just fine. Battery life appears to be as stated, even better using BT. No complaints about the launcher either, I knew the situation prior to purchasing.
Great to hear. I currently have the Hiby R3 Pro Saber 2022 but I'm having a lot of lag and freezing because I have a large music library of 15,000 songs. The player struggles to load an artist's albums so I'm looking into the Shanling M3 Ultra or the upcoming Shanling M1s and then selling my current player. Is the 20 hours of battery with wifi on or without?

Without Wi-Fi. I only connect it to Wi-Fi for as long as it takes to install/update software.
