This looks very very nice
I loved the sound of utopia, if it has a same kind of sound signature and if it is a huge upgrade from periodic BE then it would be my next Iem
:beerchug:
Hey, if anyone wants to lend the Utopia for a couple of days for me to try, I can compare : ). Otherwise, that comparison to the Utopia might have to wait until after I get a chance to hopefully try them at CanJam in February.

Sunny day too ^^

That's a very fine teaser pic indeed.

Thank you! I love when I can blend 2 hobbies together...

Starck86, it has been 15 minutes so can we get a first listening impression already!? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

: ) working on it. 30 days of burn in first, right? ;P. (Kidding).

Playing the crowd. I love it!

Haha, all in good fun! I’ll let them burn in a bit regardless overnight (for whatever that’s worth). I’ve already been listening to them for several hours today so.... : )

I’ll work on writing up some impressions over the next few days (or a week or so) and will post in a dedicated Luna thread. More unboxing photos to come in that thread too.

In the meantime.
I don’t mean to tease these photos (though I do want to share my excitement); I really just want to give the Luna the listening time it deserves.

That being said, I’ll give my initial impressions in a sentence:

The Luna manages to both kick ass, and have this...this...absolutely lovely character to it.

What an IEM. Man...man oh man.

Hats off to everyone at Dunu for this lovely IEM.

Check out this holo (edit: iridescent?) etching on the metal nameplate (edit: What is the process called that creates this effect?).

What source will you be using ? What kind of music ?

I was planning on the N6ii (all modules), but it had some minor issues and I had to send it back for new unit (so won’t have that back until February).

Anyways- what I’ve been using today:
  • iPhone 8 w/ apple DAC
  • iPhone 8 w/ Fender A1E1i DAC (another lightning dongle) - listening with that mainly today, have been using it while commuting the last few weeks too with my headphones in general. It’s a nice switch from the apple one, I think(?). Would be curious to get it tested at audiosciencereview.
But...here’s my drafted current plan:
  • In a couple of days, auditioning the Lotoo PAW 6000.
  • First week of February: hopefully by then I’d get the N6ii back to play with. Can’t wait.
  • Feb. 15-16: Anything you suggest that would be at CanJam NYC 2020, I’m happy to try. Let me know.
  • In a week or two (quicker than I thought): SMSL M500.
  • When I have time to figure it out: my modded Maverick D2 DAC (Sparkos Op-amps + Bendix 6385) + a tube headphone amp. (Unfortunately my Fisher 500-b doesn’t have a headphone jack...that was released with the 500-c model, alas...)
  • Also when I have time/at work: the Dunu DAC.
(Edited for formatting - hopefully that’s better).

The topping stack would probably be better than the fiio.

I don't like the coloring of FiiO's implementation. Though I haven't tried the new m15 yet.

I hope HiBy releases a new dap soon. One that uses a newer Android with Google Play. Really love my Hiby R6 Pro (other than weak wifi signal).
