Drew at Moon Audio will do the podectomy for $40 shipped, plus $5 for the resistor, and you choose the value. Anyone have what they consider the best resistor value. I'm not a DIY guy when it comes to this type of thing, so I figure at $45, it's worth a professional fix. I've seen a lot of numbers out there, but wondered if one is the best.

From everything I've read, and recall, anything in the 20's - 40's impedance is good, lower being warmer and higher being more detailed. A few settled on 47ohm.

Thats adding 20-40ohm or total? I know my Koss 75s sound noticeably different with a 70ish ohm plug in adapter I made.

Don't forget at some point approx 12 hours into the sale they changed the web page from saying ships in "2-3 days" to "2-3 weeks".

And, that was 20-47 ohm added, they are only 5 ohm with no pod.

So the volume control pod is what makes them 16ohm? The volume control cant be used to turn up the impedance like other line attenuators?

If anyone missed the buy.com sale, newegg.com has them for $60 + $5 S&H. I ordered that 4 days before the buy.com sale. Oh well.

These are my first true IEMs, and my discovery is that my ear canals seem to go in then turn sharply upwards. So the im716s end up sticking downward into the cartilage at the bottom of my ear ... ouch! Unless I figure out a better way to fit them, they're headed to eBay. Oh well. Better luck to the other buyers.

My email notification said they "shipped" the same day as my order (Dec 3rd). However, USPS tracking didn't show them as picked up in their system until yesterday (Dec 5th). I'm guessing I'll get them tomorrow.

Btw, the email also said "Carrier - Other". I had to figure out that the tracking number was for USPS.

Google checkout is so wierd.
