No DSD on USB either!!??

Audirvana says they are talking to iFI

Not a problem for me... running v1.6 firmware.

I think I've hinted a few times already here to others but if you (or anyone) is seeing issues on v2.0 beta, try v1.6 firmware.... it's rock solid for me....

v2.0 beta has had multiple issues for me but it is beta after all.

Get a copy of v1.6 from iFi Support if you can.

Hey everyone - quick question. I currently have a Woo Audio WA8 that I'm thinking of upgrading (mostly for the DAC stage - it uses an ESS 9018K2M). I'm running Empire Ears Phantom IEMs and Focal Utopia full-size cans. Would the Pro iDSD be a massive improvement?

In terms of detail retrieval, assuming you listen to high-quality recordings, the Pro iDSD would be an improvement, yes. Direct to headphones especially.

1.6 will do MQA too?

No.. that’s the catch. iFi made it very clear that v2.0 (with MQA) is a beta release... and since it’s a beta, you may have issues - naturally.

I've had a few issues with the v2 beta but I’m finding v1.6 very stable. It’s easy to swap between the firmware versions.

Plus if you can give iFi feedback on the differences with v1.60 it helps them identify and fix issues on the v2.0 beta...

I feel that network streaming sounds better -- slightly smoother -- than USB.

You can still listen to MQA fine, just on 1.6 it wont "unfold" it.

Yes even my iPhone will “play” MQA just fine. There are Tidal HiFi tracks that are only available in MQA (and not RBCD) that my iPhone will play, no issues...

So I think it’s safe to assume any question about MQA is only referring to decoding/unfolding...

Which v1.6 firmware obviously doesn’t do.

What's your setup like for network? I can't make Pro iDSD force Ethernet.

The SD card reader is also excellent but suffers from not being gapless and the very bad application Müzo to order it. This is a shame because all these problems prevent the Pro IDSD to be even more efficient compared to his competitors.
