Currently my Wifi-router is connected to the Pro iDSD with an ethernet cable and my PC is connected to the router with a wireless 4G connection. I could also add another ethernet cable between the router and my laptop. Dumb question, but is that what you mean with a bridge mode?

Here's the router I'm using:

For bridge mode, here is a tutorial how to set it up. https://www.windowscentral.com/how-set-and-manage-network-bridge-connection-windows-10 The last step is important make sure you manual assign the bridged ethernet port with its own IP address.

Basically, you will connect your laptop to the internet via wifi to your router, you will have connect the Pro iDSD to your laptop via ethernet cable. The bridge mode allows your laptop to serve as a router and share the connection with Pro iDSD.

This way it's like a direct connection from PC to Pro iDSD. My $10 Ethernet cable sounds better than the $500 Wireworld Platinum Eclipse USB cable.

Really enjoying this DAC in my system. I have a PS Audio Direcstream in my main system and this is not far behind at all. Really impressive piece of kit for the desktop. So far liking tube+ with DSD 1024 and BP+ the most. Works fantastic with Roon connected via USB on my Windows rig.

Great job iFi people...lol

You're welcome!

@iFi audio Can you ask your tech team if the network stuttering with anything 192k or higher is something that's fixable with firmware or it's a hardware issue with memory and buffering that we are going have to live with. Right now I'm downsampling everything to 96k, and I have never experienced a stutter. I personally can't hear the difference between DSD vs 96k downsampled DSD, so it probably won't make real life listening difference, but part of me like to know I'm playing straight up DSD. Thanks.

JRiver & Audirvana streamed directly to the iDSD via DLNA. I prefer to play my files as they are. For the price that I'm paying, I shouldn't have to compromise by down sampling my files.

I can't really think of a reason to talk you out of returning it. The Pro iDSD does sound superb. After I put in the JW Western tubes, the sound became so full bodied with impeccable imaging. It just reinforces the awesome Susvara sound signature. I think you could just rebuy it if they do fix the network buffering issue. I just hope it's a software issue.

To double-check, this issue is still on with FW 2.01, right?

Hi guys,

this is my first post here

I am a little bit lost in translation because I have good localy offer to buy iDSD but I have less then 24h to make my decision.

Don`t have time to read all those posts here and I have few questions.

I want to use iDSD over ethernet connection to router for TIDAL streaming with MQA and over USB hard disk for the rest. Clean iDSD without PC/Mac etc just Muzo app (or maybe some other app? )

What can I expect regarding sound quality? Is there some way? Can some summarise me in short Pro&Cons for my wanted solution because I find out here that there is some problems with this approach for listening?

Thanks!

You mean you don't want to use a computer at all? How are you hosting the files? External hd connected to idsd directly or NAS? Muzo is not a great option. If you want Tidal MQA, Audirvana is the only option.
