Can anyone kindly tell me how to downgrade the firmware? I was sent 1.61 by iFi in .bin format with no instruction whatsoever...

BTW 2.01 is an absolute mess for me, I use the device two hours a day and I can’t recall a session without a crash.

Apparently it is not. The 1.61 firmware is provided as default in the device, there is no app to install other versions - the only one which was provided came with 2.01 and did not allow to choose a specific file.

Are you on a Mac or Windows? On Windows you can choose a file. You can actually modify the Mac installer to install any version you want quite easily.

MQA is now officially available for the Pro iDSD

As some of you good people know, Beta firmware v2.1MQA has been available on our website since 27 February.

The Beta version has now been confirmed as the official current firmware for the Pro iDSD.

From MQA:

“iFi Audio is announcing the latest firmware update for the Pro iDSD making it the first in the range to support full MQA decoding. The DAC can also be paired with any CD player to experience MQA-CD playback.”
