How do you know they don't listen ?. Do you know everyone in the forum personally ?. Do you know how to measure audio products ?. How about things that can not be heard, but can be measured. You have to take your statements with a very large grain of salt !. Where is your evidence that they do not listen to audio equipment ?.
It all depends on how much you would be willing to spend. iPower Elite is the most effective PSU we have, so if you aim for the best, this is it. Otherwise iPower X will do perfectly fine. Also, differences between those power supplies might vary and this is system specific.
My ipower x sounds very nice with my Auralic Aries Mini. The only thing that is spoiling it is the fact that the UK adapter means it’s upside down. The cable is sticking up in the air! Surely this is a design fault?

Thanks and it's good to know that it works for you! If iPower X was made only with the UK standard, it could've been different, but we had to come up with an adapter for every socet plug there is and that's why UK orientation is the way it is.

So if I bought an adapter with UK plug and eu socket to match the ipower x eu adapter I could use it the right way up and avoid the strain on the cable?
I bought the iPower X and should get it today. If there is no improvement I will return it and go with an Allo Shanti or a Teradak DC-30 which are only $60 and $40 more respectively.
I received the iPower X today and it makes a nice improvement in the sound of the Qutest. It was well worth the money. It's improvement is similar to the Teradak LPS with a blacker background, more detail and resolution, like a veil was lifted from the music. Tomorrow I will do a head to head comparison to the Teradak but I suspect that they will sound the same. I will be keeping the iPower X.
i was told by TREO in Singapore that there is little difference between the iPower and the IPowerX, they talked me out of upgrading, not worth the extra money. what's up with these guys who promote your products. it might be worth having a word with them. worst customer experience.
Because I read their reviews of electronics. I can't say that they never listen to electronics but if you read their reviews, there is almost never a quote about the sound. Spec's do not mean Schiit if it sounds bad.

It's all good. We don't tell our resellers what they should and shouldn't do and it's OK if their approach differs. One reseller would say not to bother with iPower X if you have its basic version, but several others with their own experiences would say go for it. It's all fine really

Yes, we did. The Teradac has a little more detail but it is very close. The Teradac is being used to power a Regen and the Power X is being used for the Qutest DAC, mainly because the Regen requires around 8 volts and the Power X is 5v which the Qutest is rated for. I have no reservations about recommending the Power X. If you get one, buy it from Amazon where you can return it if you do not hear a difference. That's what I did.
The Allo Shanti LPS is supposed to sound great but it is more expensive but still under $200. Though at some point you need to look at the cost-benefit ratio because you would be better off upgrading to a Bifrost unison DAC and selling the Modius which a great little DAC by the way. I own the Modi Plus besides my Luxman and the Qutest.

Appreciate the response and info. I ordered a iPower X from Amazon yesterday so I can see if it makes a difference. I also considered a Teradak U9 X2 and Allo Shanti, although these cannot be returned. This is why your post intrigued me. I also considered a Bifrost 2. My setup consists of a Win 10 PC (with APO EQ) --> ifi SPDIF iPurifier 2--> Modius--> Musical Fidelity x10v3 (really tricked out though) tube stage--> Jotunheim 2--> Audeze LCD-XC.
The way it sounds now is amazing. The Modius alone is ok/great value. But Modius with the ifi SPDIF iPurifier 2, tweaks and mod sounds in my system different but close to my older (and larger) Proceed DAP and Mark Levinson 360 r2r dacs. My setup is sensitive/resolving enough that any minor change can be heard. I am just hoping for a few more inches of performance gain.

Glad to help. The system that the Qutest is in, is very sensitive to changes as well. I tried a Jitterbug, made things too bright. The Qutest is very sensitive to usb cable changes and it is not subtle. Same for my reference system with my Luxman, Pass X250 amp and BAT preamp.
I built a custom midtower computer with premium parts and a low ripple power supply with Win 10, to use as a music server and player. I remote in with a laptop using Win. Remote Desktop so there is no monitor and no video card. I use BugHead or Audirvana as a music player as I have 9 tb's of music.
