iFi audio iDSD Signature - The saga continues!

Hi
Yesterday, i received idsd signature.
I check idsd with ca cascade, solaris and hifiman ananda.
I compare to ibasso dx220 with amp8 fidelizer signature. Ibasso is more analytical and less musical.
With solaris and cascades sounds similar but with ananda i feel a great improve.
Ananda sound with more body, punch and better separation.
The xbass function suits them great as they gain sub-bass and body without smearing anything.
If I already liked the Ananda, now they have me in love.
Very happy with the purchase :)

Try a USB C to USB C cable, get rid of the dongle and it will work I bet.

I don´t think there is a need for two cables, i owned the first model once, and now i´m interested in this one.
With the first one you could choose if you wanted battery powered or pc powered, while just turn it on and then connected it to the pc port for the first case, and for the second one you would just connected the device to the usb port first and then turn it on.

Unless Ifi is doing like Chord, but i assume it is like i said for the silver idsd micro.

You do need two cables if you want to charge while using as has already been pointed out in the thread. The USB C port is power only and the USB A port is data only.

That's correct :)

Ah ok thanks, then they made it like the Chord Mojo and Hugo2, in the first models it was different, that is why i was suprised.
I guess its about reduction of the noise flor. The system they used for the gemini cable for example.
I do remember when using battery powered only with the first micro it sounded a bit better.
But thanks for the info.

Hi All,

I am just about to order this thing. How many of you have ended up needing the so called IFI iDefender when running music from PC USB. Is that almost a given, or just in "some" cases?

Cheers
It's a given if you want to banish PC noises from your audio. For the Signature, I would choose iPurifier3 over the iDefender.

A lot of folks are commenting how good the Signature sounds straight from the box which is encouraging. However, remember that it will sound better in every way after 200 - 300 hours use (I've been through a few of these devices now).

My question is more like, does everyone have PC noise without it? Doesn't seem so, but I could be wrong.
I am just going by what I read. I see some cases of GPU fan noise filtering in through the ground. But seems only for a few. Am I wrong.

ouch, this ipurifier cost almost as much as some of IFIs own DAC on their own (hip DAC). I guess I will test without such before investing so much. I find it hard to believe that most people are using such devices as well with their BL and or any DAC for that matter.

By any chance, possible to request a custom iFi iDSD signature in Black at extra cost?

I'm sure there is someone here who would do a custom paint job for you (pending that not voiding the warranty...)!
