Super loud sub bass "boom!" every footstep. I won't get used to that.

I think my ear canals aren't suited.

Dang.

Oh well - I wanted IEMs for a lot of reasons
* The look
* I wanted to hang them off a Sony LDAC neckband for wireless Hi Res
* Noise isolation

I bet the ER4 XR'S sound sweet - if only they fit me.

Enjoy yours!

Or you could try vented IEM(dinamic IEM). You won't get that occlusion effect or at least very little.

But then would noise isolation be reduced?

You could try iems with over ear cables such as westone and all the other chinese models.

Simpler solution though, Have you tried a clip to secure the cable to your shirt?

That will help with cable noise, but not bone conduction (occlusion effect) on footstep.

The shure ear bud gets about half a millimetre into my ear canal. Then falls out

That a strong indication that you didn't even insert the IEM properly. If it is foam tip as most Shure IEM are default to, you will have to compress the foam down before insertion or else you will not get a good seal.

Bought a pair of ER4XR from another headfi'er and have just received a custom balanced cable from ClieOs. I love them. The Shure SE535s I had were nice, but too warm and mushy. They did have a great soundstage, to be fair. I didn't get round to using different Knowles filters as I didn't feel the sound was for me. The insertion was a fiddle tooo, with the non-locking MMCX connectors.

Just waiting for a custom balanced cable (Mimic) for my SRH1540s and I am good to go!

I am going to go to a place that sells IEM's and with them see if I can get a pair to a) Stay in b) deliver any bass.

If it doesn't happen with pro help - I will abandon IEM's

I DID like the 'fast" delivery of the ER4 sound.

Hey everyone, do you guys think 2V output from Shanling M0 or LG V20, V30 is enough to blow these BA drivers out? I happened to blow 2V out of my M0 line out straight into ER4SR. Hope they are all right. They still sound good though but the bias got the better of me.
