Hey Head-Fi! Last time I wanted some headphones you guys helped out a lot and I couldn't be happier. Here I am again looking for a pair of IEMs. I mostly listen to Rap, Trance, Eurodance, pop, and just about every other genre of electronic music (hardstyle, glitch, ... you get the point). Things I am looking for: strong build quality, I will mainly be using these around campus and they are bound to get tugged on or caught on something occasionally. Obviously the music I listen to has quite a bit of bass so great bass is a must! That's about it, I am looking to spend around $170 max, more preferably I like the $150 area, but I'll spend the extra $20 if it is truly worth it.

I'm currently looking at Sony mdrex600. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

The UE TF10Pro, JVC FXD80, Turbine, Klipsch Image X10 and Yamaha EPH100 are recommended for these genres music and they all offers punchy bass.

How bout some Etymotics too...

No...  No...  Just no...  You really need to stop recommended this IEM to people who want bass quantity.  There are SO many other options out there that will destroy Etymotics in terms of bass quantity whilst still having the quality.

Well Thanks for your opinion...

It is just that though, an Opinion.

I have heard it said that opinions are just like noses... Everyone has one, and they all smell.

I for one get great bass with my Etys, Thank you.

Any votes for Velodyne Vpulse?

These have had a few words on Head-FI.  It is a bassy, warmer, and more fun signature from what I've read.  Can't comment much more.  They never really caught on with Head-Fi.

Model.  Brand is Future Sonics.

I am guessing you are talking about the m7 (http://www.amazon.com/Atrio-Future-Sonic-010-046-Technology/dp/B0016ZGKAW) and not the m5?
They seem to get a lot of praise for good bass, do you know how the MDREX600s are and how the m7 (or m5 if that is what you mean) compare to them?

I also see the monster turbine pro gold / Miles Davis tributes get a lot of talk in terms of bass. How do they stack up to m7/mdrex600? I am a bit hesitant about them because they are made by monster, though.

Also how are the audio technica CKS77? I seem to see good things about them on head-fi but they are significantly cheaper which makes me think that they are in a different quality range than what I am looking at.

M7 > M5 (based on what I've read).  The Turbines are actually well respected on Head-Fi.  It's just that the Beats line sort of tarnished their name.  Monster wasn't a problem, Beats was (IMO). If you get Turbines buy new from an authorized retailer as they have reported build issues.

I haven't read much about the CKS, so I can't comment there.
