thanks! What concerns me about the idsd micro is the said channel imbalance. I have pretty sensitive headphones (um3x,a83,he400s and k701).

Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

All of them will be fine.  As others have mentioned before m,e you only get it from the micro idsd before 9:00 on the volume pot, setting the power to ECO mode is all you need to do.  I don't even activate IEMMATCH with the shure 846.  On the other hand, with the ican, I get no channel imbalance at all.

well heck....  looks like my idsd has died ...   I'm suspecting that the battery has expired...

symptoms are:

Battery will not charge
The status indicator light just blinks at a fast rate when plugged into USB...  with power off it blinks blue, with power on it blinks green..
if its not plugged into USB there are no lights at all...

Put it on a dedicated USB charger overnight and still not functional..

it will not play at all with the battery dead...

anyone else have to replace the battery ?    I don't mind doing it myself.. just need to know where to get a new battery...

I suspect this might be a important solution as sooner or later all of the batteries will be going out on these..  ;-(

I have a micro on loan for audition which has the 5.0 fw.
When I turn the unit off and put my Mac mini to sleep mode, after I wake up the mini and turn on the Micro it can't connect to the computer even if it shows connected in the sound options menu.
I have to unplug and replug the Micro in order to connect.
My iDSD nano does not have this issue (5.0A). It didn't have it even with the older fw.
Will the 5.0B solve the problem? I don't want to install it on the unit because it isn't mine.
I am considering of upgrading but this is a little frustrating inconvenience...
Thnx

Anybody else with the same problem?
I finally bought the micro.
I tried the 5.0B firmware but the problem remains.
Trying to open a support ticket but I get an error msg on my browser

Were you ever able to get this resolved?

After some communication with ifi now I am on 5.0 fw and it seems that it is random... Sometimes it keeps the connection some others not!!
The problem is, as ifi told me, that the handshake between the Mac and the micro gets lost.
It helps to switch off the DAC first and then put the computer to sleep and follow the opposite route when switching on!

I had the issue where my Mac intermittently wouldn't recognize my Micro after waking up but I believe the firmware update resolved that issue. Have you tried reapplying the firmware update?

Yes!
When I bought it I installed 5.0B.
After ifi's recommendation I installed 4.10, just to check, and after seeing that it the issue persists I installed 5.0.
Which fw are you using?
To be honest now it seems that the handshake is lost fewer times!

So I decided to go for the iDSD micro instead of the chord mojo since I got a good deal from a fellow here in our country. yup, the channel imbalance is not noticable since on my headphones, at normal mode, I go to about 12 o'clock on  the pot. When using my iems, at eco mode, i go to about 10-11 o'clock.

Dammit this unit made all of my headphones sound a lot better. I'm coming from a Fiio E17+E9 combo btw.

Micro iDSD – Firmware 5.0A for SPDIF signal/USB recharge

For micro iDSD customers who use their machine as follows: the SPDIF receives a signal and the USB is for recharging, on firmware 5.0 and 5.0B, attaching certain USB chargers disables SPDIF input.

Therefore, to re-enable this functionality, please follow this link and install firmware version 5.0A on your micro iDSD.

This enables the SPDIF to receive a signal and the USB input to receive power only. So the micro iDSD can run in this configuration indefinitely.
