Hello,
Maybe this issue has already been addressed before, but cannot find it on the thread.

If I power the IDSD through the USB input (for desktop use) how does the coaxial/optical connector behaves? (I have readt the users guide)

I have tried to use the idsd micro conected through the USB to a Linear PSU to power it and also use at the same time the optical input, but the optical input doesn't seem to work as such with the usb been used (if only to charge the device).

So, does the spdif connection switch to "output only" when the usb receives power (reardles of receiving other sinals or not throiugh USB) , or only when there's a sound signal on the USB input (thus I should be able to charge through USB and use optical input at same time)?

Thanks !!

Hi,

Which firmware version do you have?

If you wish to do this, try v4.06 or v5.1 or v5.1B (whichever suits your needs).

Cheers

I have a small delay in windows before the device turns on and starts playing music(½ second), like its in some kind of sleep mode(the status LED is just showing all green), i have tried disabling sleep mode on all the USB ports with no luck also tried 5.1b firmware that didn't help either. Is there a way i can make the device be awake all the time as long as my computer(win10) is not in standby/turned off??

Hi,

If the playback software has the option, (J-River does), set it to enable "play silence for hardware synchronisation".

Due to issues with song-to-song transitions with various playback software there is a need to mute if there is no playback or a change between songs.

Version 5.0B is recommended for iDSD micro to disable the sleepmode.

Now I'm confused... is it 5.0B or 5.1B to disable the sleepmode.???...   also... the PDF file in the 5.1 software package is the PDF for 5.0 in case you weren't aware...

Can I use the Oppo VOOC Rapid Charger for this, will it mess anything up?

Hi,

We assume you use the Oppo to fast-charge the micro iDSD? USB-based chargers thesedays should be USB BC1.2 compliant - we looked but couldnt find any information. Seems okay but check with Oppo.

Cheers

Well, I have not used it yet but was inquiring if it would harm the battery or the device itself in any way. I have used a Samsung cell phone charger for it.

I have the same problem. I am using foobar2000 with V5.1B firmware and I would like to have 0 delay as in V5.0B. Can you compile a custom V5.1B version that eliminates that gap and fixes DoP problems? Thanks in advance!

Have a nice day

Rafael

Hi,

We did some more digging around.

It seems the Oppo VOOC Flash charge uses non-standard cables and batteries. We do not think it can be used at all with the iDSD micro to charge it. The current official fast battery charging standard over USB by the USB Implementers forum is Battery Charging Specification Version 1.2, which the iDSD micro does comply with. Other fast charging protocols are vendor specific and as such are only supported if the Vendor (e.g. Apple, Qualcomm or Oppo) went all out to make their products USB standard compliant.

Cheers
