I love the Black Label paring with the Aeon. Absolutely stellar!

What isn't stellar is iFi's customer service. I asked them to send me the drivers and firmware for the Black Label yesterday twice: once by sending them an email, the other time by opening a support ticket. I've yet to receive a response from them. Fortunately, superuser1 came to the rescue and provided me with what I'd needed. Thanks superuser1!

Just received my IDSD BL and at first listen, there is a huge smile on my face. I didn't think my previous gear was particularly bad in any way, nor do I now, but wow the level of musicality, detail, air and space is just so pleasing. And to think it will get better as it breaks in. Best $379 I've ever spent on audio.

I do, however, have one issue and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction with what to do. I am running the BL off of my Windows 10 laptop and through JRiver Mediacenter 23, and when I select 8x DSD in the output dsp, I get awful, unbearable stuttering. It works just fine with 4x DSD, but it's a total no-go with 8x. Any suggestions?

@iFi audio, just checking out your refreshed site. There isn't any specific mention of the IDSD BL, but it seems that the IDSD itself has the same specs now as the BL. Is this the case?
Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. No mention of the BL on the site. They might still be updating the site.

Nice setup Jmills. I'm loving my iFi Micro iDSD BL with the TH-900 MKII's. I sold the Oppo HA-2SE and the Centrance HiFi-M8 that I had once I got it. I felt it bested them in performance and features.

Yesh great amp and great dac plus great price. I still have the HIFI M8 but its big but its nice. The ifi is slightly better. The centrance does well with good quality recordings but the ifi makes soso recordings sound better.

The Centrance is a nice amp but it didn't match up with all of my headphones like the iFi does. I did like the convenience of the balanced output connector even though it wasn't truly balanced spec wise. Either way the iFi out performs it in my opinion.

The site that's currently online is an old version. We have some stuff to work out and it all should get back to normal soon.

Engaging X-Bass or 3D-Matrix (or both) will increase measured distortion at a given output voltage, though the increased level in the bass will cause an increase in distortion from the higher levels (as would turning up the volume more), so they can be used without a "bad conscience".

Jus one thing here: "will not increase" should be in there instead of "will increase".

@iFi audio also if there will be another firmware update, instead of just having an option where the sleep functionality is turned off altogether, maybe have an option where sleep and trickle charging come on after a longer pause as opposed to just a few seconds. I'm thinking anywhere in the 5 to 15 minutes range.

I tested the BL on a macbook using Audirvana +
When i opened the preferences --> Audio Settings, it shows the DAC maxing out at DSD256 where as isn't BL DSD512 capable? Anyone else encounter this? And if so what does this mean?
I sent an email to ifi support regarding this and i am still to hear from them.

Not exactly like your situation, as I'm using a PC based laptop and playing through JRiver, but in my case while my system does recognize that I have an 8x dsd capable dac otherwise no sound could come out, the sound that does come out stutters terribly. I'll probably send an email to IFI support as well and report back what they say.

Cool. I wish someone with a mac who uses Audrivana + would chime in.
