iBasso DX90 Bug Thread - Post Any Firmware Bugs/Issues Here
Feb 7, 2016 at 4:51 PM Post #751 of 864
Haven't had these problems or any others with fw 2.4.0.  Very stable fw now - certainly are some enhancements that could make the ui more friendly and easy to use but nothing that I consider make or break.

As a side note relative to the issues mentioned - I was experiencing dropouts/fade in/outs last year and it turned out to be a bad memory card.  Are you playing from internal memory or a card?  If a card I would suggest trying another to see if the issue persists.

Cheers,

Tim

Hopefully its not the card as its a new 128gb Sandisk. I will try a different card as that is a great idea.

My bad memory card was from Sandisk.  However, they have outstanding customer service and replaced the defective unit with a brand new one and it was even the higher speed version from the one I had problems with and sent in.

At least if it is the card it is easily fixable!

Cheers,
Tim

Not an annoying bug, but something I just noticed:

the loading screen shows "charged" when the DX90 is turned off although there still two bars to go when I turn the DAP on (latest FW).

But hey, at least it shows the charging screen again now. :)

Does anyone have issues with the song skipping to the next song half way through or cutting off early and going to the next song? It does this on mine with the newest fw and very sporadically. Im also using it LO.

I have experienced this for the first time today. Suddenly it skipped to the next song, then played for a bit and skipped to the next again. Not sure if I just forgot to lock the buttons before I put it in my pocket.

So I started a new thread for this same question...but I think it might belong here.

I just updated to the new firmware (version 2.4), and now when I use my DX90 as a DAC for my Macbook, I can hear popping and clicking. I tried plugging my headphones directly into the laptop, and the clicking went away. I also tried using my FiiO E07K DAC Amp, and there was no problem there either - so it's definitely the DX90 (or possibly the USB cord that runs from my laptop to the DX90).

I contacted iBasso, and they suggested I try downgrading to the older firmware version. BUT when I downloaded the old firmware and tried to transfer the update file to the DX90's internal storage, I got an error that said there wasn't enough storage space!

This is super weird because I keep literally nothing on the internal storage - it's all on an SD card. To add to this strangeness, when  Iselect the DX90 in my Finder window, it tells me that there's only 250MB of storage space, even though it's totally empty. When I go to system info on the DX90 itself, it says I have 5.57GB of storage.

It's a mystery. Anyone have any ideas?

I would use the batch tool to load the FW that is on the first page of the DX80 thread. I have used it and it works well. There are complete instructions with with the download.

We test on a number of different DX90 and with different people but have not experienced any skipping. What type of skipping are you getting?

songs ending 4 seconds ahead of what it should be, tried on a whole lot of songs and they appear so, used the batch tool and same results still

Which music file format do you use? If a lossy one (e.g. MP3), which bitrate?
