Hi,
I have had Dx90 for a week. Over the last couple of days I have had trouble turning it on. Usually happens after I have been charging it. I use phone charger. Is this due to battery getting hot or is it faulty?

Try disconnecting the cable and then hold onto the power button for 5 secs or more..

I always has this problem with the cable connected, but it goes away once I had the cable disconnected.

I have to disconnect the USB from my AK100 or I can't turn it off. I notice this at times with a couple of others.

Anyone had success with a Windows 7 32bit VM running on VMWare Player on a Windows 8.1 64bit host? I tried to get the USB DAC driver working, but failed. Everything installed fine, no errors.
I see the DX90 connecting inside the VM, I see the USB device in the device manager, but don't get an audio device to choose in Foobar2000 or configure as Windows "Playback device".
Already uninstalled and reinstalled the USB driver, rebooted the VM, disconnected and reconnected the DX90 etc. etc..
 
Guess I'll just have to wait for the 64 bit driver.

@pOOB73 I tried to do the same thing for my Ubuntu 14.04 with a VM under win 7-32, driver installation was fine, I see the DX90 when I connect it, but no visible audio card to use in any player.
 
Edit : I'm waiting for the 64 driver as I have a dual boot with two SSD and a 7 64bits.

Thanks, so the problem is probably not us but the driver not working properly in a VM.

Well to update on my media scanning problems, I had tried everything, trading my memory card to other devices where it worked fine, using the firmware upload tool that ibasso provided...etc., etc. with no resolution of my scanning problems.
 
Contrary to logic, even though the microsd card worked fine in every other device, I eventually tried a card from another device in the DX90.  It works!  I don't know why.
 
Anyway, scanning of 6000 plus files takes approximately 20 minutes, but afterwards all files show and do not come up as "null".  I can now shuffle amongst all files on the device without manual file by file scanning...Yeah!
 
My remaining main problems are the ongoing cutouts during songs (which I do not notice when using the line out), and the media scanning is still a little wonky.  I added a few songs to the device.  Upon disconnecting from the computer it did a quick scan but did not find the new tracks.  I then manually searched for a new track via directory view and when I tried to play it, it automatically started an entirely new scan again.  When finished the tracks were recognized.
 
Major remaining problems:
 
1.  Song cutouts mostly noticed on HO and Coaxial Out.
2.  Slow GUI response, particularly on "All Music" tab.
3.  Freezing up if actions are done too quickly or at the same time.  This issue occurs consistently if I'm searching a file list for a song while it is playing, and I attempt to change the volume at the same time.
3.  Finicky media scanning that is still a little unpredictable.

I cleaned all my tags and only use album, artist, year, track and title as I ran in other problems with dnla equipment before. In addition, all titles have an embedded picture.
 
Is there something I have to avoid (like size of the picture,...)?

Hi, I like to add a follow-up to my previous post:
 
For a week now I tried over and over again to complete the media scanning process. As I have a lot of music on a 128GB card, the scan process took about 2 hours every time. So I tried to change something and started the scan process again,...
 
While performing the scan, the DX90 builds its own "cache" and copies the pictures of all albums into its cache. This resulted in a folder on my card, which has a size of >3GB on that card. As I only had 2,5GB left, the player wasn't able to add the pictures to the cache and the media scan ended. The card was full and the player wasn't able to play any song of a folder which hasn't been processed by the media scan, because every time I selected one of those album/songs, the media scan started again, finds the sdxc card full and the player resetted.
 
Now I have deleted all embedded pictures, any picture of any kind (jpg, bmp, ...), the cache of my card, the cache within the internal memory and the scan, performed a reset of the player and now the media scan ended sucessfully.
 
Maybe this of help for someone else.

i was under the impression that the dx90 used its own internal memory for directory/cache/etc functions.  can anyone here enlighten me on what the thing is doing when it's scanning, where it stores the directory it creates, and so on?

Each sd card has it's own database/cache directory for the files on the card as does the internal memory and then there is some kind of master directory on the internal memory as well

I just discovered also that the DX90 creates a separate album folder on it's internal memory.  I'm not sure why it fully duplicates all of the album art.....seems like a poor use of the device's space and resources considering they are already embedded in the files.  Another DX90 mystery.

My dx90 isn't able to do normal play mode by just playing songs according to their track number.  Instead, normal play mode means the device will play according to the track title (not the track name).  Please let me know if this is normal or if there is anything i can do...  I have wav files, the only want to change the track title is the rip again right?

Not correct. Download mp3tag and play you can change whatever info you want. Or if you want to convert to .flac you can use dbPoweramp. Both of them are great programs.

mp3tag doesn't read wav files no?  even if it does, i still have to type the track numbers one by one to each title?
