Hi guys.
Im interested in modifying the amp12 module for my Ibasso dx300.
When i had ibasso dx220 I modified the amp8 and amp9 modules with the fidelizer mod. Rally enjoyed amp8 with his mod. Stock amp8 had a similar sonic signature to amp12.

I would like to know the changes in sound signature of the different mods. I think that amp12 sounds great but maybe too flat.
I would like it to gain some extra punch and a more organic sound without losing treble extension or too much scene.

Best Regards.
I had the amp 12 W. In the bass it had more pressure, a little deeper and drier. Midrange sounded fuller, with more meat on the bone, treble was even more brilliant and a bit more stretched out. Basically like Amp 12 original but everything is a bit refined. Maybe amp 12 w is what you are looking for. Anyway, I really liked him. In my opinion it made the house sound of Amp 12 perfect.

I have modified amp12EXN. I dont think it has extra punch but everything else is a significant step up. Its cleaner, smoother, has more extended bass and sounds more organic overall. It also has slightly bigger staging- more space due to the cleaner and smoother trebles and more airy mids. Better holography too. Battery life is the same as with a stock one.
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts! Looks like a significant step up for sure.

I wonder what the chances of the DX300 getting Android 11 are now that iBasso has confirmed the DX320 will?

EDIT: Paul has stated on Facebook that it will come to the DX300. That's awesome news.
I noticed DX320 Android 11

As we know the DX320 is arriving
But would you still buy a DX300 today with both modules ... 🤔
I would. The prices you can find the DX300 for are unbeatable and I honestly don't think the 320 will be that much "better". It will be "different" but that'll come down to preference. The DX300 with AMP11.2 is already pretty amazing sounding, throw AMP12 on for a few hundred extra and you'll still (probably) be in cheaper than whatever a DX320 will end up costing.

I also would and as I mentioned , not because of the price

But because of the performances and it practicality : 15 hours playback, and very powerful output, which generates zero to no heats even staying inside the pocket all day long

Normally I would see powerful player with a lot of heat, especially staying inside the pocket , or very weak output as Walkman and it produces Zero heat 😂

I am skeptical about the dx320 to have the same ability to stay as cool as dx300 while having 15 hours or so of play back. That is because dual ROHM chips are very power demanding

Yeah, the heat has been my biggest surprise. With my old M11 Pro. I took my headphones out one night and forgot to pause it. It got wrapped up in my blankets and I found it like an hour later and I couldn't even touch it. The DX300 there is barely a difference in the temperature when off and when playing for a few hours and that's at stock. I rooted mine to get the gesture nav more seamless and I'm going to play around with power profiles. See just how far I can milk this battery.

Thats one of the things I love so much coming from dx300 to m17....gesture navigation. Such a game changer in the overall experience.

I got so used to it on my M11 Pro and Plus that the DX300 kind of felt clunky and old without them. The Playstore app "Infinity Gestures" works extremely well (doesn't need root but does a better job of hiding the nav buttons if rooted). That combined with dev mode giving the option for circular icons has given it a very Android 10 like feel. The 6GB of ram help it stay really snappy too.

Gesture nav ... ?

Navigating by swipe rather than the three soft buttons on the bottom of the screen. I haven't used button nav in years until I got the DX300 and it felt so old and clunky due to that. Thankfully there is at least one decent third-party app to add them in.

Nice
But you have to root the DX300 ?
Or just install ?
