Late to the party but just bought a DX300 with Amp11 and Amp12

Where did you manage to procure one? I have a buddy that has been contemplating pulling the trigger (now that they have been discontinued), and I can't seem to find any place that has one anymore.

If you take the amp card out, it will show on the upper right which one it is..

Example (not my amp card):

Or if you have the box, the one that came stock will be listed on the box. Amp 12 should have its own box also and should be listed. But either way there ya go...

Edit: Also, if you have Amp11MKI it will only show as Amp11 (IIRC), as opposed to Amp11MKII, which is version 2.

Yes, you need to look for it on the amps board inside.

There is a noticeable difference, but again, it's not massive IMO. 12 is better in resolution, separation, and transients (for example). 11.2 is better in deeper bass, and bass quantity, and (for me) mids are a bit more natural and less SS like (overall a tad warmer). It all depends on what you value more as to which one you might like better.

But, from all that am reading, a modded 12 W/EX/EXN is better than 11.2 in almost every way??

Well, if the seller was honest on the add, it is listed as DX300 + 11.2 + 12. If it was indeed purchased (new) on 9/14/21 it would have to have the 11.2 amp installed as stock because iBasso discontinued the 11.1 amp some time before that. I got mine in may of last year, and it also had the 11.2 card in it.

The EXN is more dynamic and punchy than the 11.2. The 11.2 is more aggressive in higher mids and this sometimes makes the impression of more punch. I dont think there is any mod for 11.1, 11.2. I think Steven tried but im not sure about the results.

I mentioned it a few hundred pages ago. Whitigir made a mod for Amp 11.1. I wanted to do it too. I have all the parts here too. I don't do it anymore after what happened to my amp12..I don't trust the Vietnamese company anymore. If the amp 11.1 is also destroyed, I can no longer sell the DX 300.

I was down to the RS6 and the DX300 as well and I'm pretty happy with the choice I made. What really turned me off the RS6 was the sound generally being described as overly warm which (IME) can come across as veiled and requires more thought be put into your entire chain front to back to ensure "synergy".
